Roadtrip! Roadtrip! Roadtrip!

We’ve just gotten word from our friends in London that our Roadtrip to Highbury (Version 4) is a GO! We have obtained tickets for a few lucky ArsenalAmerica members to attend the following:

Arseanl v. Sparta Prague (Wed, November 2)
Arsenal v. Sunderland (Sat, November 5)

Hardcore fans can stick around to see Arsenal reserves v. Charlton (away) somewhere in South London on Monday, November 7. We will also arrange a tour of Highbury sometime during the week between the games. Several roadtrippers arrange day trips to Cambridge/Oxford/Bath etc and some even go away to Paris for the day or two.

This year’s schedule was really tough. This was the only chance to get 2 games in less than one week, and it isn’t that bad. Two games, with the first being a night game, means we can arrive on red-eye flights the day of the game (saving a hotel stay) and leave on Sunday after the match (a total of 4 nights in a hotel).

We have a VERY limited number of spaces, and as such, we are asking for your help.

* Only ArsenalAmerica premium members.

* Only those members living in the US or Canada (sorry expats in the UK)

* Only “true fans” please. If you are going and want to take your wife and kids or colleagues, please think twice. We’d really like to get the “hardcore” Arsenal fans to see a game at Highbury before it closes. Thus, we’d really like you to help us by requesting spots only for those who really want to go.

Since I usually get a lot of e-mails asking, the estimate on the costs is something like this:

* Roundtrip JFK-LHR $450
* Hotel, 4 nights, $100-$150 a night (so-so). >$200 a night for nicer.
* Food / Drink. 4 days of food and drink. $30 a day or so?
* Transit. $50 or so total,including airports
* Tickets. About $75-$80 per game–we don’t know just yet.

Total: $1300 or so? It’s really up to you. We get all the tickets in bulk and then pass the cost on to you. As for hotels and airfare, that is up to you.

People will need to confirm with andrew@arsenalamerica.com if they are interested in going. Do not book a flight until you hear back from me.

    Space will fill up FAST, like in a matter of days. My e-mail has already been popping all morning.

    Andrew,

    Thanks for setting this trip up again this year. I missed out last year but hope to be included this time.

    This weekend, when I told my wife about an upcoming business trip in November, she said “Don’t forget: you can’t go if it conflicts with the Arsenal Roadtrip!”

    C’mon Gunners!

    Though I’m not quite one yet, I’ll count myself as an expat and try to make it to the T-Bird for the Sunderland match at the very least (if we do as last year).
    Looking forward to it!

    Again, this trip is filling FAST! If you are waiting to talk to your loved one tonight about it–don’t wait. Call her / him now and get it sorted.

    Seriously…

    Dang it all, how do you guys manage to do these trips? I live a humdrum life I guess. Getting out of work wouldn’t be a big deal, but I certainly don’t have a grand to drop for this. I envy you all….have a wonderful time. I’ll now go back to wallowing in my misery…
