Are you sitting around depressed that you didn’t get to go on the Fall roadtrip to Highbury? Well fear not–we’ve been given the green light to start planning a SPRING ROADTRIP!
This will be our first official Spring Roadtrip for ArsenalAmerica, and as such, it will be wrought with a number of conditions. First and foremost–we’re not sure when. Yea, that kind of stinks, but right now we are still talking different dates with Arsenal and our friends in London. It will also likely be a smaller group, as tickets will be much harder to come by. There is a very slim chance that one of the matches maybe an AWAY match, which is an even harder ticket to get (if we are in this tournament or that).
And on top of that is the problem of schedule changes. We’re going to be getting tickets 10 weeks prior to the game, but the league could move the match at the last minute (as they do in the Spring ALL THE TIME). Needless to say, we’re going to need some people this Spring with a bit of flexibility in their travel capabilities.
So, there will be a Spring trip, we don’t know when (March or April perhaps, but maybe Feb), but you should start thinking about it.

I am IN!
Let’s make sure the likes of Scotty, Mike K, DannyT, Mazza, and Andez get on board.
(Andez, are U in the States?)
I KNOW I can get a ticket for myself from mates… and “might” be able to get 1 or 2 tickets for others.
I just have to make sure I get to sit with LoveG, so I can explain the finer points of the game to him!
November 9th, 2005 at 4:57 pm
Thanks Stag..
Looking forward sitting next to You before Highbury is Hammered off.. It will be Nice to see Andez and Scotty too just to upset them..
November 9th, 2005 at 5:06 pm
It would be rather funny to have the 4 of us sitting at T-Birds pre-game, next to each other after the match… and then out for a nice Italian meal afterwards!
I’ll bring my VIEIRA #4 shirt for Scotty to wear to the match.
November 9th, 2005 at 5:07 pm
Damn folks if you have the chance watch Henry’s goal against Costa Rica..
The guy is something else and I hope we re - mortgage The Grove to pay him ?1m a week. Lol
Pls watch the goal as many times as you can cuz that goal was very amazing. He is special.
November 9th, 2005 at 5:10 pm
Sitting with Scotty and Andez in the same room ? They will have to call in the special police cuz the debate will be too hot to handle..lol.
But seriously I hope to see you guys for some real football chat and some good drinking across town.
November 9th, 2005 at 5:11 pm
I will try to make sure I can catch highlights of the game. He played the entire game. Just hope he gets a break on saturday though
November 9th, 2005 at 5:25 pm
I have said repeatedly, TH14 = god! or at least IWWW!
November 9th, 2005 at 8:33 pm
We should have an annual convention.
November 10th, 2005 at 2:47 am
andrew, count me in! i am extremely excited to hear of the spring arseam excursion, and will sell vestigial body parts on ebay to raise the cash! i just recently got married, and my wife has family in england. suffice it to say, they support the wrong club. her entire extended family are MANC supporters. i spent the entire weekend of my wedding arguing the finer points of football– how van diver cannot hold “le jockstrap du henry,” and exactly why martin keown could kick roy keane’s lucky charms ass! so in summary, i’d love to see my beloved gunners, highbury, and get the chance to meet up with the colorful characters of arsenalamerica! but most of all i’d like to rub my new inlaws’ collective noses in the steaming pile of their mediocrity… please let us know as soon as you get the info.
(by the way, thanks mancs for beating chelski. 40 games was getting a little too close to 49…)
November 10th, 2005 at 7:03 am
Hey Andrew,
Please include my name on the list for the Spring trip as I am IN!! Short notice , no notice, no worries I”ll be there!! So please let me know and make that 2 spots as the missus will surely be joining me!!
Thanks
November 10th, 2005 at 8:32 am
Hope this works:
http://tinyurl.com/7sxbr
Thanks to Archie for that.
Apparently in an interview, Henry said he didn’t mean to do it. Makes me wonder if he even knows how good he is. Wish I made mistakes like he does.
November 10th, 2005 at 8:36 am
I’m so IN its scary.
And I’ll be bringing a #1 with me to make any neccessary adjustments to my #4 shirt.
Heh.
November 10th, 2005 at 8:55 am
Hey Drew, Yeah I was pretty bummed at not being able to go on the road trip this fall but in the spring I’m definitely interested. I’ll be back from the desert hopefully by Christmas but definitely in the spring.
I live in Germany so I won’t need to make the trip across the Atlantic but I can link up with you guys in London. Keep me in the loop. I’ve seen Arsenal play live earlier this year in Munchen but never at Highbury.
November 10th, 2005 at 9:47 am
Nice… thx for the link.
November 10th, 2005 at 10:47 am
unbef*ckinglievable! my mistakes consist of putting soap on my toothbrush while i wash my face with crest, or the occasional public shart.
btw, what are you doing up at 4:32am scotty?
November 10th, 2005 at 11:19 am
Just so you all know–we are not taking names yet. That will come later, so I’m not writing down any names yet (otherwise the trip would be full before it was formally announced). It’s just too difficult right now. So stay tuned to this website!
Restrictions on this trip will likely be VERY tight, focusing primarily on those who have NEVER been to Highbury getting first preference. Wives and friends and others who aren’t huge fans will be asked to go shopping or sightseeing so we can get more hardcore fans into our allotment.
Like I said–it’s still being worked out. There are a number of things that have to be sorted, but we are planning on doing something in March or April (or, maybe February, but I doubt that).
November 10th, 2005 at 12:25 pm
Heh.
Hmmm…I had to check that time, cause it was nothing close to that when I posted. Weird.
From what I hear, Henry had quite the goal celebration at the flag. Haven’t found a link for it yet, though.
November 10th, 2005 at 12:39 pm
I saw the celebration on eurosport. He seemed to confuse the corner flag with a rather attractive lady and started grinding it. The flag started rubbing along a certain area and it could have been very painful. It reminded me of Lee Sharpe back in his Man Utd days when he actually was quite good.
November 10th, 2005 at 12:43 pm
And this game was in tribute to his mother? Yikes.
November 10th, 2005 at 4:14 pm
No stag, I am not in the States. But thanks for inviting!
November 10th, 2005 at 4:58 pm
Hey Andrew,
Looking forward then to the announcement, never been to HIghbury and am dying to get there this year so will be tuning in even more than usual!! Any chance on getting a ticket thru you guys for any match after Xmas ( not necessarily the roadtrip??)
Thanks,
Jean
November 10th, 2005 at 5:15 pm
I you sure that’s a good idea Stag? I can imagine you decking me after a few pints and hours of me explaining why Arsenal are better without Vieira ;^)
November 10th, 2005 at 5:48 pm
Thanks for the link Scotty and indirect thanks to Archie. The tv’s here didnt show the goal.
November 10th, 2005 at 6:19 pm
Andez!
where are you!?!?! UK? Canada?
Mazza, I enjoy the lively debates… and appreciate people’s differences… at the end of the day you are a Gooner! I’d never buy the explanation about Vieira, because I like him to much as a player! But a few pints would do us all well regardless. Hell, after 3, even Cesc & Flamini would start to look good in midfield!!

November 10th, 2005 at 6:50 pm
You’ll find no bigger admirer of Thierry Henry than me, but sorry guys, that was not that brilliant. More so lucky.
November 11th, 2005 at 9:26 am
We remember all the brave men (and women) who sacrificed so much to preserve our freedom. Thank you Papa Howie and Great Uncle Nick, and particularly Great uncles Mike and Percy, who died for the safety of their families.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
November 11th, 2005 at 3:50 pm
Its amazing to me that some of the Veterans of that war are still alive after what, about 90 years. Three huge battles on that field over four years. Mind boggling that any one could even live through that.
November 11th, 2005 at 7:24 pm
Cheers, Clarkey. Amen.
Thanks, Uncle Jerry (Korea), Uncle Eddie (Vietnam), and RIP Uncle Irving (368th Squadron, 306th Bomb group, 8th Air Force).
November 11th, 2005 at 8:37 pm
Ooh… boy, I’m going to have both vacation days to use and a bit of flexibility in the spring… this sounds like my type of thing.
-Jon “Never been to Highbury, starting to worry he might not get there in time”
November 12th, 2005 at 9:12 pm
So apparently, Justin Hoyte has been one of Sunderlands BEST players this year… he couldn’t play against Arsenal, per terms of his loan.
Interestingly enough… he is playing LEFT BACK.
Hmmmmmm…
So if he were to return to us from the loan… he’d back up Clichy at Left Back… Eboue backs up Lauren at Right back… so we don’t need him there.
Sounds like the conspiracy theorists have some merit? Hoyte backs up Clichy at LB… as Ash shuffles off to Real Madrid for the BEAST?
Makes sense to me?!
November 12th, 2005 at 9:39 pm
Thats making a whole lot of assumptions about a whole lot of transfers to have any serious merit. Then again nobody really knows how the transfer system works, or who will be comin and going in January, so you never know. You may be right after all.
How is Baptista performing for Real Madrid anyway? Most of the press coverage about them has to do with Woodgate and Beckham. Hardly a word about the others.
November 13th, 2005 at 9:56 am
I’ve heard the whispers about Baptista to Arsenal and Cole to Madrid. I don’t think the Beast has been a star at Real… I think Robinho has played better than him.
Stranger things have happened… it would make too much sense.
Although… I don’t really believe in letting a EXCELLENT right back go, for an untesed midfielder. That part doesn’t add up exactly!
November 13th, 2005 at 10:03 am
Its pretty apparent with this bit that PV4 was SOLD by Arsenal, they were the catalyst, and he would rather have stayed.
__________________________
Midfielder Patrick Vieira has insisted he had wanted to end his career with former club Arsenal before he was sold for ?13.7m to Juventus in the summer.
Vieira told the News of the World: “Arsenal did nothing to keep me. The bottom line is they could have kept me.
“I saw myself finishing my career at Arsenal. I thought I would be at the club for another three years.
“I don’t know if they needed the money for players or the new stadium, but it was their decision to sell me.”
The 29-year-old moved to Juventus in the summer after eight years at Highbury.
He has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with Juventus, who lead the Serie A table.
Prior to joining the Italian club, Vieira had been repeatedly linked with a move to Spanish club Real Madrid.
Vieira added: “One moment I was on the phone to Arsene Wenger discussing our expectations for the season.
“The next I was told by David Dein there was an offer from Juventus and the club was neutral about my decision to accept it or not.
“Neutral? What was that was about? There had been offers before, particularly from Real Madrid.
“And every year it had been made plain Arsenal wanted me to stay.
“Had they talked to me the way they did the previous summer, there is no doubt I would still be at the club. But they didn’t.”
_________________________
Seems to me that his heart is still at Arsenal, and he’d prefer to still be at Highbury. But hey… thats just me. Arsenal got what it wanted… 13.7 Million GBP.
November 13th, 2005 at 10:06 am
And / or, Wenger got the opening salvo of his next mini-revolution at Arsenal. Who knows? He moves in mysterious ways (it’s alright, it’s alright ;))
November 13th, 2005 at 10:16 am
Baptista, Torres, Zokora…must be a slow international week.
In other news…
…I thought it wasn’t too surprising that, according to his bio, Vieira held some bitterness at how he was sold, reiterating that he wanted to stay at Arsenal for life. What I do find confusing is that he’s also also been quoted as saying he needed a change and wanted in a league that would give him a better valuation. He certainly hinted at one summer after summer, and played that way in his final two seasosn from time to time. Now, he’s coming off angry. I don’t get it. Part of me thinks he just didn’t want to play with the kids and felt it hurt his game to have to carry them. In that sense, I understand to some degree.
But what irks me most is that I probably will never know where his head and heart have been the last two years. I still miss him and would like to put his chapter behind me with a sense of bittersweet, but all I’m getting is the bitter. Its like he doesn’t want to leave a trail as to who he really is. Maybe he doesn’t know.
I am kind of glad that the mixed signals aren’t being bounced around the training ground anymore, though. Anyway, congrats to our lads that did well this past boring week - Sendy, Henry, Reyes - and here’s to them being fresh and invigorated for Wigan on Saturday.
November 13th, 2005 at 10:21 am
Stag, the whole thing is confusing. But it does seem to me that this sentence:
“Had they talked to me the way they did the previous summer, there is no doubt I would still be at the club. But they didn’t.”
Shows just how much leeway Patrick was given over the years as a captain. And how it ran out.
November 13th, 2005 at 11:46 am
I think Patrick Vieira has been badly advised throughout his career. He is obviously a very decent and affable person, as alluded to by his former team-mates comments, but I think his advisors were filling his head with material that fuelld his ego to the point where you get the good and bad of Patrick in the same paragraph of his autobiography.
There was one excerpt which was particularly revealed the duplicitious nature of Vieira:
“To me, that wasn’t the issue. It wasn’t about a good or bad contract ? the word that swung the decision for me was ?neutral’.
“If that is how it is,” I told him, “whatever happens now, I’m off. And I’ll go to the club that I choose ? because I will be able to choose.” What an arrogant son of biatch.
As I said in the summer, Vieira sulked like a big-baby when Arsenal had the “audacity” to call him out for what he was and not look like desparado’s begging him to stay. Vieira was actually expecting us to grovel to him for the whole summer and plead with him to stay. What a joke.
I can guarantee that had Arsenal rejected Juventus’s offer and issued a public statement saying Vieira was not for sale, Vieira would not have said anything publicly and just stayed silent and let the speculatuion fuel his already huge ego.
None of the revelations surprise me one bit. They just re-affirm what I’ve been saying about him all along.
November 13th, 2005 at 11:57 am
Maybe he just had to leave The City of Blinding Lights ;^)
November 13th, 2005 at 11:58 am
Senderos is truly becoming an international monster.
November 13th, 2005 at 12:07 pm
And move to the place where the streets have no name?
November 13th, 2005 at 12:13 pm
Going by what he’s saying though, he still hasn’t found what he’s looking for.
November 13th, 2005 at 12:17 pm
Maybe he’s looking for a sort of homecoming?
November 13th, 2005 at 12:24 pm
Well, if had just said he wanted to stay at arsenal to Dein he would still be here. But I suppose Patrick’s above that, after all he’s bigger than the club.
November 13th, 2005 at 12:28 pm
Too right. I guess right now Vieira is finding out that sometimes you can’t make it on your own.
OK I have to stop with the U2 lyric references… not because they’re annoying, but because they’re eerily accurate
BTW though Mazza, that first one, the City of Blinding Lights, made me nearly piss my pants!
November 13th, 2005 at 12:37 pm
Yeah, I think we should quite while we’re ahead. It was when I was trying to use “whose gonna ride those wild horses” that I knew I had gone as far as I could. Your right, a person who doesn’t know much about U2 might have thought we were having a serious conversation!
November 13th, 2005 at 12:52 pm
I also think Vieira ought to take the idea of quitting while you’re ahead more seriously. If what he’s quoted as saying is exactly what he meant, then he’s only going to lower himself in the eyes of all but the most dedicated Vieira fan. Ultimately I think these pro/anti-Vieira conversations have run their course; it was one thing when he was still at the club, but the space we allow Vieira to occupy in our minds is growing to the point that he, even in his departure from North London, is overshadowing the Arsenal Football Club itself.
November 13th, 2005 at 1:34 pm
hear hear.
November 13th, 2005 at 1:49 pm
True. At this rate we’ll be talking about him when he’s “40″.
November 13th, 2005 at 1:53 pm
“Vieira was actually expecting us to grovel to him for the whole summer and plead with him to stay. What a joke.”
I hope this is a lesson to Wenger, cause he’s the one that made the monster. But in a way, I guess the ends justified the means. Patrick was huge for us and helped build the club to what it is today. Outside of the sadness of losing him, all we really suffered were a season’s worth of lackluster performances and maybe a little mind effing.
Arsene knows.
November 13th, 2005 at 2:02 pm
Good weekend then boys? What’d you lot do with the your free time?
(England v argentina was great, but with international weekends you only really get the one game for 48 hours; normal weekends I can get in upwards of 7 games. I didn’t bother doing much in the way of research, though I should have… if anyone has a spare dissertation on sports and international relations in the 1930s and wouldn’t mind giving it to me, I’d be much obliged.)
November 13th, 2005 at 2:37 pm
I knew all along that there was something dodgy about this deal to begin with and reading the NOTW article last night bought tears to my eyes.
I really thought that I had come to terms with Vieira’s departure after so many months but this article has reopened all those wounds afresh.
I am at a loss to understand HOW, WHY and for WHAT REASON, did the board allow Vieira to go. As long as Vieira was with us, Arsenal could justifiably claim that we had the best midfielder in the world and now thats no longer the case.
Now I completely accept and symapthize with Stag’s point of view over the months past. Arsenal allowed something to slip from their grasp that we could never get back or replace.
The whole Vieira to Juventus affair has been a TRAGEDY of EPIC PROPORTIONS. Bigger even then the great Homeric tragedies of Ancient Greece. Of Achillees, Ajax and Aegememnon.
Right now I am feeling that it would be a huge miracle if we will ever be able to put behind us such an excruciating body blow.
Mazza: I think it is really a low blow on your part to refer to our great captain of 9 years past as a “son of a biatch”. I can understand the fact that you dont like a player for the particular set of skills he brings to the team as you obviously feel that we no longer need those skills, but even you should understand, that the top most critical people in an organization need to be WOOED, ENCOURAGED AND MADE TO FEEL WANTED. The fact that Dein did not NOT do that was a clear signal for Vieira that he was no longer wanted.
In honor of Vieira I will now dedicate this song by Roy Orbison (another man whose talents I worship). This is my take on the song “CRYING”
by Roy Orbison and I dedicate it to Vieira on my behalf and all those gunners who love him as much as I do.
We were allright, for a while
We could smile for a while
but we saw you last night you held our gaze so tight
as you stopped to say hello
Oh you wished us well, but you couldnt tellllll
that we’ve been cryyyyyiiing over you
Crrrrryyyyiiiiiiiiiiing over you
then you said so long and left us standing all alone
Alone and Cryyyyiiiiiiing, Cryyyyyyiiiiing, Cryyyiiing
Its hard to uuunderrrrrrstand
that the sight of your self
can start us cryyyyyyiiiiing
We thought that we were over you,
but its true oh so true
We love you even more than we did before
but Vieira what can we do
for you dont dont love us
and we we’ll always be
CRYYYYYYIIIIING OVER YOU !!!!!
CRYYYYYYIIIIING OVER YOU !!!!!!!!
yeas now you’re gone and from this moment on
I’ll be CRYYYYYINNNG!!!! CRYYYYIIIIING!!!!!!
CRYYYYYIIIING !!!!!! CRYYYYYYIIIIIING !!!!!
OOOOOOVER YOUUUUUUU!!!!!
come back Vieira come back.
We want you back.
November 13th, 2005 at 3:40 pm
I think this article pretty much speaks for itself. Vieira did not want to go. He had made the decision not to go countless times before but inexplicably this time the board made him feel not wanted. Why they did that is anyone’s guess, but a proud man like Vieira knows when he is not wanted and he left.
In this episode the only people that made out well were Juventus and Vieira’s agent. Neither Vieira, nor the Arsenal fans ever wanted it to come to this.
November 13th, 2005 at 3:46 pm
I dont agree with you that for the past two years Vieira played badly. Everytime he came on to the pitch for Arsenal he was a force to be reckoned with, and his play on the midfield freed up our attackers to do what they do best.
So this summer there was interest in Vieira from a number of clubs. SO WHAT. There has always been interest in Vieira. It was Arsenal’s job to make it clear that they wanted him to stay. They did not do that and for that simple reason both Arsenal and Vieira are worse off for that matter.
November 13th, 2005 at 3:53 pm
FG, I remember Wenger said just before the Barnet game that after the tedious nature of the will he/won’t he saga last summer with Real Madrid, he made a mental note to himself not to stand in Vieira’s way if a similar offer came up again. That’s all he and David Dein did, they informed Vieira of the offer and left the decision up to him. It’s not as if they were trying to force Vieira out by letting him rot in the reserves or anything degrading like that. He would have been our first choice central midfielder if he had stayed. All Vieira had to do was say to Dein he wanted to stay. But no, he couldn’t do it. His reaction speaks volumes.
November 13th, 2005 at 3:57 pm
I think Arsenal made it quite clear they wanted him to stay, they just were not prepared to look like mugs waiting two months for him open his trap like the summer before. They gave Vieira the choice, like they will do with Henry this summer.
November 13th, 2005 at 4:00 pm
But by putting the onus of words on Vieira, I think you are missing a very key point. Vieira is a Superstar, no club on earth can expect to retain their top stars unless they make them feel wanted. Thats the same way with the most talented people in all walks of life. Movie producers have to always shmooze the A-list movie stars if they want them to perform in their movies. Headhunters must coddle, cajole and shmooze the exucitives they want to lure away from rival firms.
If Arsenal go to their Superstar player and captain and say that they are neutral on his outgoing transfer, any player, whether it Vieira or Henry or Ljungberg would interpret it as a sign that they want him out. There is just no way around that.
November 13th, 2005 at 4:13 pm
That Vieira THINKS he is superstar, judging by his words, is quite apparent. Half the reason Wenger got shot of him I think. It’s hard to get too deep into this without mentioning his playing form but that’s neither here nor there as we have a massive difference of opinion on that score. Wenger did not feel he was playing as a superstar, that’s for sure, and that explains why he didn’t treat him as such when Juve came calling. I honestly do think the time for him had come to move on. His tactical reading of the game was always his biggest weakness and Italian football should improve that part of his game.
November 13th, 2005 at 4:46 pm
I really hope not. Henry is not a player who will be fobbed off by the word neutral. No matter what happens Arsenal will have to go all out and pull out all the stops to retain Henry. They will HAVE to make hime feel wanted.
One factor I think that might help in this regard is that I think amongst all the players Wenger has ever worked with Henry is without a doubt his favorite. I think Wenger will work to ensure that Henry Stays.
November 13th, 2005 at 9:57 pm
Good Lord…….
An intimate friend, spouse, family member or an ex….. maybe. Call me insensitive, but IMHO, the last image “Crying” conjures up is Patrick Vieira.
November 13th, 2005 at 10:29 pm
For you maybe thats the case. However every time I hear Roy Orbison sing this timeless song I think only of Patrick Vieira. Since I read the article in the News OF The World yesterday, I have been listening to that song over and over again.
November 13th, 2005 at 10:43 pm
I am not really thrilled about the idea of tading Cole in for Baptista. If there is one thing that everyone here agrees on isthat we need to INCREASE the size of the squad. Trading in one player for another does not actually achieve that.
November 13th, 2005 at 11:24 pm
Apparently, Gael Clichy was INJURED in an Under-21 International match.
No idea how seriously… but I do know that we have nobody to step in that has had ANY kind of first team play at this level in this position.
That is BAD NEWS folks. Every time we start to get going forward this year… something happens.
RVP did NOT play due to injury… ? Didn’t know he was injured. That can’t be a positive either.
Gotta love these international breaks… so meaningful.
November 13th, 2005 at 11:36 pm
Wow even more bad news. I have been saying this for some time now but it is high time that the leading European clubs need to form breakaway leagues within thier own countries. How long can this go on, how long will the national soccer associations continue to ride roughshod on the backs of the clubs?
Something has to be done.
November 14th, 2005 at 7:50 am
Do you have a link for this, stag? I heard that he had to come off due to an injury to someone else. Some kind of position switch was required.
November 14th, 2005 at 7:54 am
Didn’t get to see ENG-ARG, but heard all about it. Not surprisingly, English fans are saying they’re going to win the world cup now. A friendly where Owen sneaks two at the end hardly locks any titles, but it must have been fun to see.
U.S. played dismally against Scotland. They were without a lot of key players, and it was a friendly, so i think Arena was just running out some looks, but I fell asleep and was more happy to have had the rest.
Other than that, spent the rest of my football time debating Vieira, whose bio is the only AFC worthy news. And I use the term “worthy” very loosely.
November 14th, 2005 at 10:51 am
I e-mailed you earlier,Andrew, but I am in at any time! Please let us know more as you know it.
November 14th, 2005 at 11:33 am
I read it somewhere!??!
But it is confirmed on:
http://www.arsenal.com
November 14th, 2005 at 11:58 am
Dude, no one was more upset to see Paddy leave than me but after the “angels in the outfield, jinx” crap that you were talking last week now the boo-hoo Roy Orbison crap this week I am convinced that you have lost your f*cking mind. You might want to get some couseling there, Playa.
November 14th, 2005 at 12:54 pm
Gael Clichy is rivalling Freddie Ljungberg as the most injury prone player at Arsenal. He’s multi-talented, can get injured playing matches just as well as training!
Good interview with Vieira on BBC. Gee, he’s touchy these days.
November 14th, 2005 at 1:34 pm
Yes, Clichy is injury prone.
He apparently has a fractured foot.
That does NOT bode well. He will not be out for just a game or two, it might be lengthy.
THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE A BIG TEAM. THIS IS WHY YOU DON’T LOAN PEOPLE OUT FOR THE SEASON. THIS IS WHY WE ALL WORRIED ABOUT TEAM DEPTH!
So now what Arsene? Cygan at Left Back?
November 14th, 2005 at 2:07 pm
Hey floridagunner, I want to apologize for saying you’re losing your mind. I shouldn’t have been disrespectful. You have a way of expressing yourself that’s a bit unusual to me. You’re definitely a gooner so you’re okay. I still think you’re kind of a weirdo. We all are in a way because we log onto this site essentially everyday to read what each other has to say. It’s all good as weirdness adds flavor to the site. Maybe I’ll meet some of you guys in the spring to put a face with the login.
BTW, I really don’t know who Roy Orbison is. Does he sing like cowboy music or something like that?

I just read the news of him being injured. Can’t believe that. This season has shown that you must build a squad expecting the worst — long term injuries in every position.

A little harsh, but I see your point. In a year of international hell, maybe sending players out on loan is asking for it.
Cygan apparently played LB in the Carling Cup. I’m seeing a hatter from him!

Incidentally, stag, my condolences. To be honest, a lucky strike in OT but it was no more than LA deserved. Revs just never got it together.
Didn’t we bet like something really posh and expensive? ;^)

Thank you for your condolences.
I HATE when 13-13-7 teams win titles!
Its bad for the game!
We bet, but we never came up with an actual wager… as to what was to be won or lost!
Do you want a Revs scarf!!!!!
ha!
or an ode to Cesc Fabregas?
I sent you a Private Message to discuss the Highbury Trip… its not even December and I am already getting ancy!

No worries Man!!!
I too am desperately trying to figure out if I can make it to London in the Spring. I am dying to see Highbury for the last time and also want to meet some of my fellow Arsenal Americans.
Roy Orbison is one of the greatest solo Rock artists of the 50’s and 60’s. I think I remember you mentioning that you live in Germany so I dont know what your first language is but in any case you may not know who Roy Orbison is but if you have listened to music in the English language or even seen Hollywood movies I can almost guarantee that you have heard his songs.
Any way hope to discuss more topics in regards to Arsenal and Patrick Vieira with you soon.
