(ed. note: received the following email earlier today):
My name is Iain Roberts and I am a third year journalism student (and lifelong Gooner) at the University of Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent (UK). As part of my journalism project, I am collating a series of interviews with Arsenal fans from the UK and rest of the world to gather their feelings on the club leaving Highbury after 93 years.
I am looking for people with interesting stories or anecdotes and for people’s fondest memories, not just of Arsenal matches at the stadium, but also of other sporting events that have taken place there over the years.
With fans outside the UK who aren’t expats, I would be interested to hear as to why they chose to support the mighty Arsenal. It would also be interesting to hear of how expats who used to go to matches regularly cope without their regular trips to Highbury.
Would you or any of your members be interested in taking part in an e-mail interview and be willing to share your experiences, possibly for publication?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Yours sincerely,
Iain Roberts
