We don’t overpay, and we don’t buy British… just the facts really!
However… up north… quietly… ManU is doing … both! Good or Bad? You be the judge.
I’ve seen people writing off Manchester United on this site, fairly regularly… and I am usually baffled by it. You knew/know they are going to spend money and make moves to improve. They always do. They had a big hole to fill in their midfield, and they are definitely taking some big steps to fill it… and not for the short term either. (see: Edgar Davids)
Then there are those folks that bemoan the non-English factor of the Arsenal. Well… as I mentioned a bit of a while back, I believe ManU are going out of their way to actually build an ENGLISH based squad for the long term. Take it as you may, a positive? a negative? or irrelevant… but its happening. Will that make them “likable” to a larger portion of Brits?
They have RIO at the back… They have ROONEY up front… They signed CARRICK for the middle… and apparently, are on the verge of signing HARGREAVES to play along side Carrick. (I’ve seen many folks begging us to get O.Hargreaves).
RIO is 27 (prime of his career), ROONEY is 20, Carrick AND Hargreaves are 25. Throw in Alan Smith… who I think is a good squad player at 25 as well… and you have the makings of a very talented ENGLISH core of players, that will likely be at United for a number of years to come.
Yes… they paid a lot… probably over the top for ALL of them… are Carrick and Hargreaves worth 18 GBP each?? … but there is one thing for sure… they are talented and proven players. Writing off Manchester United is both foolish and ridiculous. Their alleged demise is a fallacy. They will be there for years to come, especially with the core group of players they are amassing. They’ll keep it interesting for the other Big 3, thats for sure.
So what of the Arsenal… its apparent that we do things a different way. Wenger is his own mad genius… with his own wily ways of building a winner. One thing is for sure, there is more than one way to skin a cat… or build a football team… and only time tells what way works best.
Chelsea just buys everything they can/want… Liverpool look like the Spanish Armada with some English core players… United seem to be buying / building British… and Arsenal are going with the foreign legion of kids to lead the way.

Tell us something we don’t know.
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:17 am
Jesus Stag, after only ONE match, already starting your “I-TOLD-YOU-SO”??……
And as for your ADMIRATION to one of our deadly rivals’ SPENDING POLICY, check it out:
Rio 30 mil, Rooney 32 mil, Carrick 18 mil, Smith 8 mil. 4 players, together, cost nearly 90 mil GBP.
Together, they cost more than our ENTIRE squad + the reserve team + the youth team.
Take Rio, alone, cost more than our ENTIRE defence, that’s Lehmann+Toure+Eboue+Djourou+Cygan+Sendeors+Lauren+Clichy+Cole+Flamini+Hoyte.
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:23 am
What is your point caller?
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:29 am
And one more thing Stag, of your constant bemoan of Arsene Wenger’s “mad genius”……. have it cross your mind… WHY did you CHOSE Arsenal to support AT THE FIRST PLACE?
Wasn’t it because of you were attracted by Arsenal’s brand of one-touch, good passing, attacking-minded football?
Wasn’t it because you were impressed by Arsenal’s winning football which brought us load of trophies?
Wasn’t it because of your admiration of the two players Wenger BOUGHT in (and yes, he DID BUY some players once for a while, didn’t he?!) - in Henry and Vieira?
WHO’s the one who made all these possible?
Now the manager decide to try building his THIRD generation of Arsenal side, and note here - BUILDING. And you don’t build Rome in one day, you surely don’t build a championship winning team in one day. Can’t you possibly be waiting for one or two seasons before you jump into conclusion and start your “I told you so” routine?
Or at least…. if you insist to complain about the point AW didn’t buy many players, can u make it once a month?
For heaven’s sake u been talking very much the SAME THING on every post every day and regardless what the original subject of the post is, you just keep on TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THING since the start of 2004-05 season. Aren’t u ever get tired of it?
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:58 am
No, Andez… I didn’t support Arsenal because of Wenger.
I started supporting Arsenal before Wenger arrived. (albeit just before).
It was simply a trip to Highbury, a chance meeting with other Gooners… and watching Ian Wright that caught my eye. After a few more matches at Highbury, there was no other choice.
Wenger and his troops are just icing on the cake.
August 22nd, 2006 at 8:37 am
well, as pointed out:
ferdinand?s fee can buy our ENTIRE defence and all 3 goalkeepers with some spare change.
carrick?s and ronaldo?s can buy our ENTIRE midfield…with some spare change.
rooney?s can buy our ENTIRE attack….yep, with some spare change too.
i think its been money well spent on our part.
the only thing i wished a bit different is that there was one or two more english (forget about british) boys in there…if they are from north london even better.
our spending policy is on point.
we have spent far less than at least 10 of the premiership teams on the balance, including spurs, everton, etc.
we have never been even close to Man U when it comes to spending and we still arent close to them financially either.
but by 2008/2009 … we?ll be in the big time.
till then the kids will do us proud.
August 22nd, 2006 at 9:03 am
The real point here is Man U buy proven English talent.
Example Carrick. Arsenal had him agreed for 2 mill when it looked like Paddy was on his way to Madrid, when he stayed we let him go to Spurs for 2 mill.
After a few years there and a couple of games for England he is now worth 18 mill?
Hargreaves as well, could have been bought three seasons ago for a couple of million, now he is worth around 25 million Euros.
Rooney and Ferdinand were proven players and their 30 mill transfer fees indicate that.
Buying expensive players does not provide you with success, see Veron for Man U.
AW has stated he will not buy proven players, he will not pay over the odds, and he will not buy a name for the sake of it.
He wants to bring in players who have the raw talent and mould them. He does not care if they are English, French, African or even American, he wants good young players.
The large gap in price of a young inexperience player that is English to a household name is hard to understand and except.
AW has his policy and I am sure he will stick with it.
August 22nd, 2006 at 10:06 am
I, for one, am happy to watch these players develop and build something from the ground up, rather than buying a championship. I’m patient enough to wait for the payoff in a few seasons (or less!) when our diamonds in the rough sharpen even more. That to me, will be very satisfying. l
What is YOUR feeling on ManU building an all-British team? Without coming out and saying it, you seem to want that, so why not switch allegiance? I doubt Arsenal will ever look like that.
August 22nd, 2006 at 10:38 am
You can't write off any team from the elite (Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea ) and even Spurs (can't say it ).
Many billionairs are buying EPL teams, so each team will spend to fill the holes they have. Some would spend blindly and drag the team to a deep sh*t. ?
Arsenal recruites player in a very exciting way … don't you get excited to watch any player Arsenal bring??I?was?dieing?to?see?Theo?!!!
I know we need a better CB options, but what if D'jouro comes up to be the man we need …
Give the season 10 games … and then u can start writing off some teams, at least the transfer window will be closed and u can tell who is consistant.
I think Arsenal will drop some points from there and here, but they will bring us a better season LOCALY than last year … becuase we had an early wake up !
August 22nd, 2006 at 11:12 am
If you spend that much money you invariably get a decent team .. if you spend all the money on players from the same nationality you are almost likely you’ll hit gold .. if they r English and play for England .. low chances you’ll go wrong …
ManU are playing their trump card “FAN SUPPORT” .. more English players … more fans … more money … and decent success pretty much guranteed …period…
Just a thot Stag…just a THOT …
Would you have praised Arsenal if they’d won 5-1 and ManU had drawn 1-1 ??? …
You’d have said…okay “bring out your Arsenal Pom Poms” …
Am I WRONG ???
August 22nd, 2006 at 11:32 am
I think you might be wrong. Would Man U fans rather see Carrick for ?18.6m or Mahamadou Diarra for ?18.6m? They like us don’t really give a hoot about nationality, it is secondary to quality and doesn’t sell any more shirts - least of all for the 1st/2nd most hated team in England.
And Engerland performances at international level go a long to proving that english player win you not a lot…
August 22nd, 2006 at 12:37 pm
Live…
I don’t think our team is good enough right now to compete for the league title. I don’t think 1 game is a good barometer, honestly… but it is EXACTLY the same type of game and outcome that we witnessed last season.
I will surely give it a few games, but after the Aug.31 deadline passes, we are STUCK with the squad until January. Last year, our chances in the league were OVER by December, let alone January.
One game does not a season make.
But… the point is/was… Wenger’s way is NOT the only way… and its not necessarily any better than United’s way or Liverpool’s.
August 22nd, 2006 at 12:44 pm
Well… my point was simply… I don’t agree with WRITING off United… and Liverpool… or any of the bigger clubs. I have seen folks do just that, and trumpet Wenger’s ways as “THE WAY”.
There is no proof that Wenger’s way is BETTER than United’s route of going English… or Liverpool’s way either. United are going to be in the THICK of it for years to come. I merely point out that they are choosing the ENGLISH root, as we choose to go away from English players for the most part. Liverpool won the CL… many folks say thats what we are shooting for… well they DID it. So they can’t be written off, or they’re Spanish squad with the British heart (Gerrard, Crouch, Carragher)… they’re style works for them.
There is no 100% right way. Writing off United is a laugh… they are closer to Chelsea than we are, and so are Liverpool for that matter. Thats what the standing said last year.
So lets not measure or belittle the opponents… its ridiculous to do so.
We’ve already had the idea that our draw was OK because Liverpool drew and Tottenham lost… so that makes us drawing OK? I don’t think so. Not if we are actually TRYING to win the league. If we aren’t something’s wrong.
August 22nd, 2006 at 12:58 pm
It’s defintely the cheapest way and it’s worked to put the Emirates Stadium into existence, while helping us go through seasons unbeaten and winning doubles. It doesn’t mean it will work in future. Like you say, it’s not possible to judge anything at all on one game - I’m sure a few teams will draw with Villa before the end of the season, chelsea might even draw a game.
If there’s one thing it is, it’s the Arsenal way.
August 22nd, 2006 at 1:11 pm
To me the argument about ?English players? is about the same as arguing about the ratio of black to white players, totally a waste of time. If someone said, a team had too many black players they would be hoisted up the flagpole for all to see as the racist they are. In our post-modern world, where communication is instant to almost any other place in the world, (I get e-mail on my Blackberry in Africa, Asia, etc.) we are faced with the new Global Village. National teams are for national players but professional club soccer does not adhere to any such rule except commerce and winning. Players as employees are protected by the same EU laws that apply to all Europeans with regard to labour.
This whole argument about English players is in my humble opinion a waste of time against the above background.
If ManUre want to buy all English good on them but in the end their fans will be looking at the winning and loosing columns and where they place in the EPL or CL. No one and I mean no one is going to say it?s because we have a solid English side because if that applies look at the results in National Competitions such as the World or European Cups where England hasn?t done so well.
I wish the press would stop this ranting about English players and except the fact of our Modern World. I live in a Multi-Cultural community in Canada and I like it that way because I?m enriched by all the other cultures which have the same aspirations I do here. Damn if English alone was so good, the whole world would be eating eggs, eggs and spam or better meat and potatoes. England is enriched by this new cultural diversity as well. Besides they have no right to argue about the results of there past colonial history - this is the bed that was made now sleep in it or close all the inroads to the island.
Stamp out Racism.
August 22nd, 2006 at 1:29 pm
There’s a system in place. Either back it or get off it. Not really sure what you are trying to say? Sounds as though you are a little upset that Chelsea and Man U put up numbers last weekend, where the gunners drew. What can you do.
If you are going to go to Vegas with the Russians and Americans, you better have a good hand or else they’ll pay for your exit. One of the reasons why Arsenal has always been an attractive team to support.
It adds that extra dynamic to the season.
August 22nd, 2006 at 3:35 pm
Point taken Stagg. Although I dont agree with you opinions, I do value you willingness to defend the unpopular opinion. I don’t think it lessens your love for the club and hope you keep making your points.
I am in the optimists camp and am hoping Arsenal has a brilliant season which sees our young team mature into a champions team. Like you said, its too early in the season to know where we will be. I wasnt happy with the draw, but was thrilled we didnt lose. Furthermore, I just like watching the Spuds lose
As far as team loyalty goes I would much rather support Arsenal through a struggling season than watch Manure, Liverpool, or Chelsea win anything. After the summer market and the first round of matches I think this is going to be an interesting year. In addition to the big 3 teams, I think there are going to be plenty of other teams that we should not underestimate. From what I see all indications point to the Prem being even more competitive this year.
August 22nd, 2006 at 5:41 pm
We lack some real wingers, especialy on a larger pitch like The Emiretes. I would like to see Walcott and Reyes on the flanks to give us more width. With Hleb, Rosicky and Ljungberg we don’t have that.
Joaquin is available, Betis has accepted an offer from Valencia which is 12 mil. pounds plus Reguero, but the deal has stalled cos Reguero doesn’t want to move to Betis,so we might get him for around 10 mil. plus Freddie. He is the best right winger in the world, along with C.Ronaldo, and with him in the team we will be much stronger. When he has the ball you always expect something to happen, he can run past players with his explosivness, he is a great dribbler, great passer, can cross the ball… But that’s just my wish. It won’t happen.
August 22nd, 2006 at 6:54 pm
we need real wingers thats true…..but the joaquin thing cant work…and ljunberg is going nowhere, so its unrealistic to even suggest it. its similar to saying lets offer bayern 10 million plus gilberto. it aint happening.
i personally dont think he is that good….he gave a “come and get me plea” to chelsea some months ago before they met in the CL….and yet chelsea didnt even bother with him, neither has any other top club around.
all in all i dont see it happening at all. we were rumored to be interested in simao, that seems a bit more possible. he is also very good with both legs - which will be very useful for us.
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:19 pm
As I said, it’s just my wish. And Chelsea were interested in him, as well as Real Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool…, but they didn’t sign him only because he was not for sale at that time. And when he gave a “come and get me plea” to Chelsea, it wa too late. Chelsea at that time had SWP, Cole, Robben and Duff competing for two spots and they simply lost their interest in him.
And for the rumour about Simao, I read that we have offered 12 mil pounds, and for that price(maybe a bit higher) we could get Joaquin, who is a better player than Simao.
August 23rd, 2006 at 12:15 am
Well, that's an interesting spin o?n it. For what seems like forever you've not missed an opportunity to point out that Wenger chooses a bad approach to skin a cat and that better ways are x, y, and z. And now you argue that there are other way besides Wenger's to skin a cat, which can also be successful. (?!) I suppose you'll now tell me that I haven't been reading carefully enough, and that you never (caps reduced to lower) suggested Wenger's lack of spending or preference for potential over experience wouldn't be successful, but (sorry, you finish…). If that's the case then I haven't understood you, but I've been reading this site for a long time and you've written the same thing so many times that if I don't understand your point, I have to believe it's the writing, rather than my interpretation.
When I started reading this site, you were the irrepressible optomist. Everyone else was complaining about set pieces both poorly taken and poorly defended, and how Wiltord was complaining about playing right wing, and how they would prefer we won 2-0 wrapping it up in the first 10 minutes then closing up shop, rather than 5-1 looking suspicous at the back o?n 3 occasions. And then you would write in and say “It's OK. We'll do better next week. We had some good stretches after halftime, enough to survive this time. I was really happy about youngster A. Cole's attacking instincts and glad he's quick enough to cover his defensive mistakes, and I know he'll figure out how to defend with some more games.” OK, I don't remember you writing about that in particular, but that was the spirit of your posts.
And then after a break o?ne summer I came back and you were Mr. Hyde. Who was that chick that broke up with you that summer, I'd love to meet her (that's rhetorical) she must have been quite a piece of work to put you in such a tailspin that you haven't gotten out of it yet and it's been years. Either that or she was so fabulous that no other negative in your day could penetrate to your happy place; but for whatever reason it didn't work out and it ended that summer. So your post today was interesting because it is a different angle for a change, and dare I say it, no, I'll leave it at not so negative. But there you go, it wasn't negative, thank … hopefully, your new girlfriend.
Well I've probably been a bit too speculative in that last paragraph, I've never personally met you or anyone that knows you, except perhaps Rick B when I went to Highbury, and I have no evidence that your straight or gay or anything else. I hope I haven't offended. But that's how I interpolate and creatively extrapolate your ArseAm persona. And no, Gerard, I haven't been smoking anything, and no, Scotty, I don't think a Yankees sweep can explain stag133.
August 23rd, 2006 at 2:02 am
We are just two games into the season - one was exciting and the other was disappointing. But we are inching closer to the transfer deadline. By that time, we’ll have played two more games and will know exactly who is staying, leaving and joining. We’ll be in a much better shape to judge the team.
But if AW doesn’t sign anyone by then, I would be terribly disappointed.
August 23rd, 2006 at 4:01 am
Diarra just moved to Real for 17.6 million pounds. That is 1 million LESS than Manchester paid for Carrick. They are both 25, only one is a Champions league veteran(5 years) and can genuinely be called world-class while the other has never played CL and cannot make his national team.
Something is serously wrong here.
August 23rd, 2006 at 4:16 am
joaquin isnt even close to reyes as a player let alone simao
anyway, difference in opinion.
August 23rd, 2006 at 7:55 am
Stag, I don’t think anyone thinks the draw was ‘Ok”. We’re just not thinking its the end of the world when you can’t put the zillion chances you had against 11 of O’Neills men behind the ball into the net because of some desperate defending. It has to get better, granted. And it will. But how do you say a club needs strengthening, or that they’re destined for doom, when they played as well as they did.
It might also be important to note that Arsenal are not owned by four fat guys from Tampa or a Russian billoionaire. Wenger’s frugality has kept the club well in control of its own destiny, and remaining at least somewhat an English club behind the scenes. The other two can’t say that.
If you run out of ideas or options, you buy. I’ve heard Wenger is still interested in a couple of players. Let’s see what happens.
August 23rd, 2006 at 8:52 am
No, Stag my point in the other thread which seems to be causing you so much anquish was I’m not going lose my shite after one week where two of our opponents either lost or drew. If you want to it is your right so go ahead but it is also my right to feel otherwise so get over it.
The sky did not fall nor the oceans boil after a time to Villa but you seem to want to attack anyone that doesn’t share your point of view. This is Arsenal America. . not Stag’s World.
August 23rd, 2006 at 8:55 am
Yes, Scotty that was my point in the other thread that some people choose not to accept.
This is not the NFL. A week one draw is not worthy of a plunge off the top of the stadium.
Some of our top of the table competitors won, some lost and some drew. We got out of it with no major injuries so while the weekend’s results were not ideal they were not devasting by an stretch.
August 23rd, 2006 at 11:14 am
What happened to Stephen Appiah? Right after the WC there were rumors that he wanted to come to Arsenal. He put on a strong display in Germany, especially the US v. Ghana match when Essien was out. He dictated the mid-field attacking and defending.
August 23rd, 2006 at 11:40 am
no one has come in for him.
I think AW has been looking JUST at defenders.
August 23rd, 2006 at 2:17 pm
Off Topic:
We’re interested in Kaladhze now … I’m going crazy ..Wasnt Chelsea interested in him last season?? How come they didnt buy him??
And BTW Gallas just got a squad number “3″ … just saw it on ESPN…does that mean he’s staying??? or is it a false alarm…
Kaladhze:

August 23rd, 2006 at 3:32 pm
Appiah, Kinky… no…
I doubt it…
we don’t buy anyone!
Please Arsene… lets actually DO SOMETHING!
by the way… down 1-0 after 12 minutes!
YIKES!
Bring on Alidiare!
August 23rd, 2006 at 3:56 pm
Arsenal’s defending is laughable. If it wasn’t for Van Persie lighting up the game it would be shambolic.
If this was a really decent team we were playing we’d 3 or 4 down by now. Hoyte looks like someone who’s just wandered on from the street, Eboue is clueless positionally. Toure screwed up for the goal as Almunia dived over it ball like a frog. Djourou keeps losing concentration, he’s no answer.
The thought of playing with this defence all season is horrific.
August 23rd, 2006 at 5:00 pm
Just heard a Chelsea fan been crying “damn, we must BUY!! Can’t u see our team just not good enough? ….. what? you want proof?! I’ll give u the proof… 2 Premiership matches so far, we already lost one… that’s just NOT ACCEPTABLE… we must BUY BUY BUY…..”
August 23rd, 2006 at 5:08 pm
Great that Chelsea lost… but they are still going to finish ahead of us in the league.
I am very happy that they lost… but it will probably just make Mourinho and Abromovich buy a few more players before the deadline… OR… they’ll pay a bit more and get COLE, one of our best players.
Not sure why we played Henry at all…
but we’re on to the next round of the CL with relative ease.
August 23rd, 2006 at 5:11 pm
Man U and Chelski are playing with monopoly money, you’ll go crazy trying to keep up with teams that have bottomless pits for cash. Wenger and Arsenal are doing it “right” for a team that is trying to win AND make a profit. When the Russian sugardaddy or Portugeezer coach gets bored with Chelsea let’s see how they fare.
BTW, did anyone see that laughable quote from Jose regarding the Champions League draw? Something to the effect of “The Premier League is an even competition. The Champions League is not.”. Say WHAT?!?! What is even about a team that can spend and spend and lose money and suffer no ill effects from it?
ManUtd’s “English strategy” so far has them overpaying for players, as far as I can see. I am glad that Arsenal has put their future in the hands of foreign youth. Like that kid with two assists in two appearances… Theo Walcott.
And as I type this… Arsenal go through 2-1 and ‘Boro comes back to smack Chelsea 2-1… good day for the Gooners!
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:11 pm
Some people are crying after one match that we won’t win the Premiership. What a laugh! Get real. Nothing is decided after one match. Manchester United win one match five one and there is an article on this site praising the way they do things. They have won their second match three nil and I suppose the next post will praise them even more.
Arsenal drew with Aston Villa. Aston Vila beat Reading. Reading beat Middlesborough. Middlesborough beat Chelsea. On that form-line Arsenal and Aston Villa will fight it out for title with Chelsea mid-table. LOL.
Oh, I forgot about Manchester United. All that their two matches tell us is that they will finish no lower than sixth from bottom as Charlton and Fulham, together with the promoted three are likely to be the bottom five.
I really don’t know why I am bothering responding to this drivel about Manchester United. I much prefer the way we do things. It is more exciting as it is less predictable. Abramovich can play Championship Manager for real and Utd can pay for the overpriced Englishmen but I don’t care. Sooner or later everyone with half a brain gets fed up playing Championship Manager so that won’t last and sooner or later English players find their real level - below the elite (Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany) in world football. Wenger said yesterday that he didn’t see any problem with Walcott going to the World Cup as there were many English players who wouldn’t get into the Arsenal team. Lol!
Much more interesting and exciting to watch a group of young committed players come together and try to do better than everyone else. The excitement isn’t at the destination, it is in the journey. That is why you are so wide of the mark, Stag. Life is about living.
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:17 pm
“they are still going to finish ahead of us”
and what makes u the oracle?
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:17 pm
I must say, Man Utd were awesome tonight. I almost envied the directness of their game, it was so refreshing compared to Arsenal who have over the last year become pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, nothing.
Arsenal used to be as direct a few years ago, but all those players have gone and been replaced by kids. Don’t get me wrong, times have changed and Wenger has had to rebuild.
Arsenal’s defence is sorry though. Anyone who thinks we can win the title with that shambles at the back is in dreamland. Lehmann can make a difference, Senderos can too - but they will never ever be capable enough to win the league with Hoyte, Eboue, Cygan and Almunia around. In fact, a bad injury to Toure and we’d be in such a mess we would struggle to make the top 10.
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:35 pm
arsenal is down a goal, and ur remedy would be to bring in aliadere??
whats up with this ur fetish with aliadere?
for somebody who always talks crap about “proven” players day in, day out, i am surprised u even know his name……..he has never done a thing for either arsenal or any other club he has been in the premiership, championship or scotland.
with walcott now ahead of him in the pecking order, he’ll be out by january no doubt…or maybe even before this window closes.
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:44 pm
and I hope they do buy some more players before the deadline. More player unhappiness. More confused tactics. Best buy for them would be another central midfield player - Hargreaves anyone - to play alongside Lampard, Ballack, Essien and Makelele!
August 24th, 2006 at 4:34 am
Read all about it! Extra, extra THE SEASON IS 3 GAMES OLD….I log in every morning hoping to read some well informed points, but sadly we seem to be judging the entire season (37 EPL games to go) on whatever game we/our rivals last played. Are you guys so completely the MTV generation that your attention span only stretches to 90 minutes + injury time?
ooo, we lost, wait a minute, we won last night, but the performance wasn’t as good as Man U’s against a crappy relegation fodder Charlton team, therefore, and in spite of the fact we were already 3-0 up we are rubbish and must do this and do that. Have a word with yourselves.
