The Future Looks Bright What is Arsenal?s Best Back Four?
Oct 03

I’m going to add to the information that I belatedly posted to the original discussion on this topic.Setanta US/Canada is available to anyone with a broadband connection. The company supplying this service is www.itvn.com. They will supply a small set box that gets connected to your cable modem via router (recommended). The box costs $99.95 but is “free” with a 1 year commitment. There is a 30 day free trial period. The soccer package is $14.95/mo and it includes EPL, Coca-Cola Championship, WC qualifiers, Euro qualifiers, Lige 1, and Eredivisie games. The hook up is simple but the broadband connection must be faster than 300 kbps to produce a streaming video of adequate quality. My connection (Cablevision: 7088 kbps download speed tested at www.dslreports.com/stest) averages >400 kbps using a CAT 5E patch cable. I’m hoping to try some CAT 6 cable to see if there’s any improvement. I’m using an S-Video connection between the tv and set box. There is a component video connection on the set box as well. My video quality is a little bit better than the soccer replays you find on www.youtube.com. If your connection has the bandwidth, then you use the remote to improve the video quality to that of an analog TV.

How much do you charge to fly to my house and hook all of this up?? I still have a Commodore 64.

lol! dude, a commodore 64 is like the hubble telescope to me in terms of complexity and ease of use…so there’s NO friggin’ way I’m getting setanta this year. Oh well. I’m still pissed it has to be such a *&%$# ordeal in america to watch football matches.

    This is probably fantastic information.
It is A LOT of INFORMATION.
and for the those illiterate to this terminology… we’d have to pay someone to decipher what you are talking about and get someone to do it for us?!!!
But it would be worth it to be able to watch the majority of Arsenals matches in the comfort of my own living room.
(hell, I was paying 19.95 a match PPV last year)
