I look at the shortlist, and firmly believe this will be Henry’s best chance to win the World Footballer of the Year.

Ironically, Titi has had better years. Nevertheless, the truth is in year 2002, there simply wasn’t any particular outstanding individual player.

Solid victory this weekend, albeit over lowly Watford. Walcott has got crazy speed and some skill to boot. Rosicky is, in a word, dangerous. Another clean sheet as well.

It’s going to be very tempting for some people to start talking about challenging for the League, or wrapping up qualification for the next round of the Champs League. It’s going to be easy to start singing the praises of certain players. That’s all fine, but remember, a poor result and we’re going to hear from others claiming this player or that one is crap. Or that Wenger hasn’t learned...

What to do when an extremely stubborn team (aka a team from Serie A) comes to play against Arsenal, and we find it extremely difficult to break them down, and the there is absolutely no time left, and still our strikers seem to be misfiring?

I think the answer is a 4-3-3 formation with an absolutely different set of players…

It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it? I actually stopped visiting the site at one point because there were so many doom merchants around. Sure, you guys are entitled to your opinions, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t feel like taking a baseball bat to some peoples’ heads a la Robert de Niro.

OK so the real football happens THIS Saturday at the Emirates against Watford. Over 15 players from the Arsenal squad would have represented their nation in one format or another. Whilst this is seen as an honour what affect does it have on the team.

I miss Highbury.
Let me just state for the record that I live in Boston, USA.
I have not been to the new Stadium, Emirates… and I haven’t been to London since Spring of last season to see MY last game at Highbury. But I have this nostalgic feeling towards Highbury… and the area surrounding the stadium and neighborhood. I have “that itch” every season to get there and be a part of the atmosphere and people. I would long to be back at Highbury… Arsenal Stadium… the Home of Football.

I would love to hear from some of the folks who have...

I have been watching and supporting Arsenal since the 98-99 season. Since then, I have seen Wenger religiously stick to the 4-4-2 formation. A strong back four aided by two strong central midfielders. Two quick thinking and quick moving strikers aided by two pacy wingers was the mantra. In later years, it was helped by two pacy full backs as well. I have rarely, if ever, seen Wenger deviate from that system for seven seasons (until 2005). Even during the drought years of 99-01, he stuck with it.

There is no doubt that this system has bought Arsenal tremendous success. Three leagues titles...

I just read that Stan “the man” Collymore is attempting a comeback to football after being out of the Prem. for 5 years!!

First of all, let me just say that I have a soft spot for Stan Collymore. Why? you might ask? Good question.

Last week?s performance by our back line was adequate at best. The combination of Eboue, Toure, an unfit Gallas, and an out-of-position Hoyte provided some scary moments. Not only did the four seem to lazily ball-watch on the first goal, but they conceded what looked like a clear penalty and failed to mark Hasselbaink for a wide-open header, both of which would have been equalizers.

One major contributor to our sub-par performance was Gallas? fitness. He clearly had not fully recovered from the hamstring injury he suffered against Sheffield the week before and was forced to play?as...

I’m going to add to the information that I belatedly posted to the original discussion on this topic.Setanta US/Canada is available to anyone with a broadband connection. The company supplying this service is www.itvn.com. They will supply a small set box that gets connected to your cable modem via router (recommended). The box costs $99.95 but is “free” with a 1 year commitment. There is a 30 day free trial period. The soccer package is $14.95/mo and it includes EPL, Coca-Cola Championship, WC qualifiers, Euro qualifiers, Lige 1, and Eredivisie...
