Another Emirates game. We hope its not another draw! (or worse!!!)
Blackburn come to town looking to get back on form.
We play another home game hoping to get back on track.
They are not easy customers these northeners. They play physical and hard, and especially now that they are not putting results together, they would fancy going in extra hard on us to try to squeeze out the points.
Wenger must be aware of this and must not moan during and after the match about this.
Our team will probably be:
Lehmann
Hoyte - Toure - Djorou - Clichy
Gilberto
Hleb - Cesc - Rosicky
RvP - Adebayor
With probable subs of: Almunia, Senderos, Lauren, Baptista, Walcott.
This should be enough to overcome the opposition if:
- Hoyte doesnt fool himself.
- Hleb, Cesc, Rosicky catch fire.
- Adebayor continues his form.
- The defence stops giving away those extremely cheap goals via corners, setpieces and longballs.
- Wenger gets on with the game while bringing a realistic and adventurous gameplan to the table rather than complaining about Blackburn?s rougharm tactics.
As we all, any Arsenal game can swing both ways this way. Am just hoping for the best - three points - nothing less will do.
Go Gunners !!!

Hoping for the best, yet … 3 points… and nothing else will do?!
Yes. I expect a draw.
I am hoping for win.
And I know a loss is very possible.
We are Jekyll and Hyde.
In the immortal words of Coach Bill Parcells: “we are what we are”.

I think Arsenal will lose 3-1. It will be an open game, and Arsenal won’t play particularly bad, but I just see Blackburn spanking a few in. Similar to the game at Highbury in 1997-1998. I just have no confidence in this Arsenal team when it comes to the league. Cesc doesn’t do anything to hurt the opposition, Hleb takes the scenic route too often, and Van Persie can’t score from open play.
It’s all down to Adebayor.

To lose 3-1 would be a disgraceful result. Benni McCarthy is out and he’s been quite a threat for Rovers, so I don’t think they have that much to trouble Arsenal with up front. I fancy Arsenal to win this - especially as the players have had a week off, and Blackburn are quite poor this season.

Actually, Stagg, Parcells said You are what your record says you are. As to how that applies to the Gunners, we still can’t be sure.

3-1 Blackburn is very harsh. Friedel will have a good game and that can add to our finishing woes. The strenght of BR’s attack will lie with Pedersen and Bentley.
We have to close down players especially Pedersen so that he cannot score any golazos. Bentley will come to play as will Savage who will be responsible for Fabregas. Fabregas needs to put together a northerly passing game that cuts Blacburn to ribbons. He needs to stop all that square passing BS that blunts our attack. You know Adebayor is making runs, so find him.
No predictions. We cannot play like we are Father Christmas and we should get the win.

I see Arsenal winning 3-0 or 3-1. RVP will fire one, The beast will come in and score.
Come on Lads …Are we gooners or what !!! I am still sure that Arsenal’s team is better than Blackburn wankers !! Arsenal’s reserve team is better than half of the table.

Blackburn are van Persie’s favourite oppositions. He scores against them pretty often, so I expect at least one goal from him tomorrow. I hope we play 4-4-2, cos we are playing a lot better in this formation than in 4-5-1.
2:0 for Arsenal
RvP, Walcott(it’s time for him to score his first goal in the EPL)

I remember writing back in January is this Pedersen kid is good as I think he is and wondering could we trade Bentley for him. Believe it or not, I had at least two people say that Arsenal didn’t need a left-sided midfielder. Boy, have things changed in the past eleven months.
I asked because I’d been in Iraq for a year and hadn’t seen him play much. I think Pedersen looks a player that would fit the Arsenal mold. Here is a guy we can not let have a look or he will rip our goal. He, Bentley, and Tugay from deep are the real threats for Blackburn. But they’re not nearly as strong without Bellamy. Nonda is slowly adapting to the pace of the game but he’s going to be a good striker for Blackburn.
This is going to be a one-sided affair with us handing Blackburn their asses. The only concern is will we score. You guys heard me singing Friedel’s praises before the World Cup saying he was the main reason for USA success in Japan ‘02. He’s probably been the most consistent keeper in the EPL over the past five years. He’s definitely been the best against us. Also, Rosicky won’t be able to play the whole game, but we should start him any way.
If we can get two past Friedel that should mean three points. I don’t see Blackburn creating many chances. 2-0 for Arsenal.

I'll be happy with a 1-0 win. And no new injuries. A goal from a goal mouth melee is fine though Arsenal seldom scores such goals. And our defenders applying safety first at all times - no monkeying in defence. Very un-Arsenal like but I prefer all 3 points.

I predict a 3-0 win simply based on the up and down nature of our home record. Every 1-1 draw is followed by a 3-0 win which is again followed by a 1-1 draw, ad infinitum. I have no clue who will score but someone will (like Liverpool and Tottenham).

great game. we played very well … as usual. but this time we did the most important part - taking all THREE bloody points … and improving our goal difference to boot.
cant complain really. but our defense still keeps making limited strikers look good. they should seriously tighten up!
but all in all, the football from us was quite breathtaking.
the icing on the cake was cesc?s nutmeg of savage(?) at the corner flag that resulted in flamini?s goal. Cesc is quite phenomenal.
One thing is for sure though. Rosicky, Hleb and Fabregas will ALWAYS create TONS of chances no matter the opposition.
lastly i have always wondered if Adebayor and RvP “deserved” to actually be at Arsenal. Now i know the answer. They absolutely deserve to be here. Cant wait for Henry to come back to form, so that all three of them can be tearing away at defences.
Oh yeah, and lets not forget, Blackburn has always been a kinda boogey team for us.

i just luved the way ade was up and about today, he was simply phenomenal.
and it seems RvP is joining forces with the Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb axis - finally working in unison with them. EXCELLENT!
i hope these two can just keep their form.
on another note. it seems we will have TWO additional northlondon derbies in the carling cup (if we were to get past liverpool). ah! i am sure if we beat liverpool outta the FA cup wenger would field an all kids team for the carling.

Wow…
what a wide open, free-flowing game.
We created a lot of chances, and I was shocked that Blackburn opted to play this style against us.
They were in the match and even had chances to tie it up when it was 3-2… we gave them far too many opportunities to score. Not a great game defensively.
But on the other end, we started banging the chances in late, and made a mockery of things at the end… with the 6-2 scoreline. Very impressive stuff.
Rosicky, Cesc, Gilberto and Hleb work VERY well together when on the pitch in midfield… they CREATE. Good match by both strikers as well.
FUN to watch. Got the points. Onward and upward.
I watched the match via internet… STREAMED via some Chinese TV channel. Absolutely FREE. Gotta love that. I will never miss another match now!

I watched the game via Internet too. Yes, it’s Chinese, my friend told me for this website two weeks ago, but I haven’t watch anything until today, cos I was able to watch my Arsenal on TV. As you said, we will watch every Arsenal match. Cheers!!!

I’m currently watching Wigan - Chelsea. Heskey scored for 1:2. Hope they will level in the 2nd half.
December 23rd, 2006 at 1:14 pm
Good game by both teams, attacking football and in those circumstances there is only one winner, Arsenal. The defense was shakey, but with Eboue and Gallas we will be fine, I think, so there is nothing to worry about.
I predicted that RvP will have a good game, but I was wrong, he had a GREAT game. Ade is maybe at the moment our best player and if he can keep this form in the Christmas period we should be able to get 9 points in the next three games against Watford, Sheffield and Charlton. To bad Cesc didn’t score. He deserved to be a scorer, had some good chances but… that’s football.
December 23rd, 2006 at 2:09 pm
I believe you’re being unfair to Nonda. He’s going to be a good striker in this EPL before long.
I saw that nutmeg coming like 5 seconds before it happened. Savage is a clown.
Fred, I’ve told you all season to be patient with RvP and Ade. They’re just too talented to write off. They’re both still so young with Ade at 21 and RvP at 22. van Persie’s the next Rivaldo. His second goal had Friedel leaning so hard the wrong way. Classy performance by the Arsenal.
December 23rd, 2006 at 2:32 pm
I predicted we’d rip Blackburn to shreds, only will we score. I guess the boys let me know. Fantastic performance today.
It’s good to see so many getting on the score sheet today. Six goals by 5 players including two by our top scorer, van Persie. All without Thierry Henry. While he’s been out, Rvp and Ade have raised the bar. He’s no choice but to come back banging them in.
I’m beginning to see what Wenger sees in Flamini. He really isn’t a bad player. His movement is very intelligent. In fact, if I had to compare his movement with anyone it would be Pires. His passing’s descent and he’s a goal scorer, bitches.
It’s good to see the three amigos back out on the field at the same time today. With van Persie linking up with them like he did today, it’s plain to see us scoring goals in the 4-5-1.
Lastly, RvP is hereby officially annointed by me “The New Rivaldo”. As good as he is, he’s only 22 and is going to get better. No one can hold this kid. If he stays healthy and smart, he will be shortlisted for POTY very soon. He’s moving up as one of my favorite players ever. Dennis and Paddy are my top two and he’ll have to be pretty good to move them but he’s technically good enough to do so. I’ve been a fan of his for over four years now and he’s truly special. And we got him for only two million. And we’ve still got Bendtner coming back. Holy shite!

I also noticed that while Hleb and Rosicky are always busy creating goals, Flamini likes to get into the box. The goals against Liverpool and Chelsea and now Blackburn prove it. The only problem is that we can’t accomodate him when both Cesc and Gilberto are playing.
