Again we meet the scousers … but this time with a semifinal place at stake rather than 3 wonderful points.

The game is in Anfield so its going to be tough for sure. And considering Wenger will most probably rest key players the boys will really have to step up big time. At least there will be some motivation for them.

Another case of same old, same old, as the Gunners concede the first goal at home yet again, and are forced to settle for a draw, this time against Portsmouth.

More and more it seems like a question of motivation. Playing in what can only be termed as first gear for the first 53 minutes, Arsenal found themselves two goals down at home, which obviously didn’t sit well with them.

Obvious, because it was when Emmanuel Adebayor came on that Arsenal played to their full potential. Within moments of his coming...

Adebayor gets his just reward.

I came into into the match at the 39th min. Commentators didn’t seem too impressed with either team’s performance up to then. Baptista started on top with Adebayor. Finally. Made one great pass to spring Walcott who started for Hleb. Walcott’s square ball for Adebayor was cut out by the defense. Baptista looks like he is trying to find his game. He’ll need more starts.

Arsenal won this game because Wigan were lacking in finishing. Heskey especially...

The Mid-Table Minefield is upon us. Captain Silva to the rescue!

Until Arsenal faces ManU in mid January, the Premiership foes are as follows:

Wigan Athletic
Portsmouth
Blackburn Rovers
Watford
Sheffield United
Charlton Athletic
Blackburn Rovers

Ok, if you want to quibble, Pompey is not exactly Mid-Table Fodder at the moment, and Watford and Charlton are hiding under the table, not sitting at it. Nonetheless, here is the point:

In ?big games? (defined here as games in the Champions League as well as matches against ManU, Liverpool,...

So after attempting to skin Chelsea at the Bridge and coming back home with a well earned point, we are back to doing more mundane stuff … like playing “average joe” teams. But its these pesky teams that give us the most troubles. The boys must be on their toes.

So the Arsenal Americans invaded London a few weeks back, and they kept our unbeaten record going when we’re in attendence. Kudos and well done.

I have not seen anybody telling the story of the new stadium… and I would love to hear what the impressions are of the Emirates Stadium, and the positives and negatives as seen from fresh eyes.

How about a compare and contrast with Highbury?
How about what you liked or disliked about the new home of football…

I hope to go in the next few months, and I am really curious to the impressions of our own Arsenal...

Since recovering from injury, this is Baptista’s record

Newcastle (H) - Played 64 min, quite aweful (I heard).
Hamburg (H) - On for last 10 min, scored a cool goal.
Bolton (A) - On after 60 min, didn’t see too much of the ball.
Fulham (A) - “Rested”.
Tottenham (H) - On for last 10 min, not much action.
Porto (A) - On the bench, but no action.
Chelsea (A) - On the bench, but no action.

7 games, 1 start, total 114 mins, 16 min/game, 1 goal.

Youth will be served.

At the end of the day, Arsenal won a point while Chelsea lost two points. Arsenal’s back line of kids bent but did not break. This was a stunning team effort that has to be catalyst for the rest of our season. They showed no fear and never backed down even when under tremendous pressure in the second half.

MOTM: Adebayor. He didn’t score but he worked so hard as the lone striker and was our only offensive presence.

Flamini, the goal scorer off a well worked play with Hleb woluld of been the man of the season if his goal had stood up....
