The big day is upon us. The battle between “Good” vs “Evil” (or so we would like to think - assuming we are the “good” guys, LOL).
This is THE biggest game of our season so far. The threat is enormous and we must play almost perfectly on Sunday for us to have any chance.

Chelsea’s garrulous manager seems never at a loss of lockeroom bulletin-board material. On Friday, Mourinho delivered some more nuggets. Fighting words? Or, the truth?
ESPNsoccernet reported Friday that when asked if he was jealous of Arsenal’s free-flowing brand of football, Mourinho said: ‘We are a team adapted to the reality, which is why Arsenal cannot beat Bolton at Bolton and why Chelsea under me have played three matches and got three victories at Bolton with zero goals conceded… For my concept of football, the best football is the football adapted to the...

Arsenal and Porto played 90 minutes of suspended animation.
4-5-1 as expected. Adebayor on top. He worked hard but had absolutely no support from the MF. He was the forgotten man.
Porto were the more dangerous side in very collegial game. Quaresma was the danger man, hitting the (R) post twice. All the effective attacks for Porto came down the (R) side. Clichy and Djourou were victimized all night. Djourou got caught in possession and gave up the excellent Quaresma second post shot.
Despite the...

There’s been a lot of speculation over what may or may not have happened at training the other day between Arsene and Titi. It seems that Arsenal America members are not immune. Here are the thoughts of four such Gooners:
FRED
There seems to be quite some similarities in this case. A 29 year old veteran, captain and talisman who has seemed not to be putting in the extra effort. Open flirtation with other clubs in preceding summers before finally deciding to re-sign after being openly “begged” by the club.
Now after the Sp*rs game he seemed to...

Another in the series of “we-cant-afford-to-lose-games”…only that this time the tag is accurate. We CANT afford to lose this game. The CL means just too much.
So this comes after a good win against the Sp*rs. No Henry, no Rosicky.
We will play cautious and calm, waiting for the break, trying to keep possession in a non-hurrying way.
Our team will probably be something like:
Lehmann
Eboue - Toure - Djorou - Clichy
Gilberto - Flamini
RvP - Cesc - Hleb
Adebayor
With a bench of: Almunia, Senderos, Hoyte, Song (or Denilson),...

A three-way tie at the top of Champions League Group G is a distinct possibility (e.g., Moscow defeats Hamburg while Arsenal and Porto draw). Can the Gunners advance? Yes.
Arsenal’s fate in Group G is as follows for each of the following scenarios:
1. If Arsenal defeats Porto, Arsenal wins the group and advances.
2. If Arsenal and Porto draw, Arsenal advances even if Moscow defeats Hamburg (Arsenal would advance based on tie-breaking criteria if there is a three-way tie due to a Moscow victory).
3. If Arsenal is defeated at Porto, then:
(a) Arsenal advances...

UK Authorities Link Emirates to Widening Probe
Apparently the possible assassin of former Russian spy, Alexander Litvinenko, who was poisoned by radioactive Polonium 210, may have flown to the UK from Moscow to attend the CSKA Moscow/Arsenal Champions League match. Emirates was one of the locations checked by UK authorities for traces of the radioactive material. Among those the authorities plan to interview is former KGB agent Andrei Lugovoi - whose visit to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on the day he met Mr Litvinenko is thought to be behind a radiation search at the football...

Arsenal get it right today. The right formation (4-4-2). The right CB (Djourou).
The right FBs (Eboue and Clichy). The right MF (no Song).

Copied some of George Graham’s comments here:
‘I don`t think they lack hunger. They need a bit of leadership quality. I think you need three leaders. My back four were all winners.
‘Thierry Henry is the club`s talisman and only he can answer questions about himself. They looked up to Bergkamp; they looked up to Vieira and they miss that leadership quality.’
I agree with what GG said. At times like this, when we are struggling, SOMEBODY has to step up and LEAD the team. When i say LEAD, i don’t mean by WORDS. ‘Cos everybody is capble...
