Seems like SONG is the only going anywhere… possibly on loan to France.
Aliadiere is STAYING at the club. He will get his chance.
Warms my heart!
I know it makes DannyT … oh so happy to hear it.
with RVP out for possibly 10 weeks or more… Aliadiere will get some 1st team action… we’ll see what he’s got.
He is AVAILABLE for Sunday v. Bolton…
but I’d imagine Baptista is on the bench, not Ali…

Aliadiere was okay the other night, not as bad some made out. He held the ball up well and made one very clever run that Cesc didn’t pick out properly. The blame for our poor first 60 minutes or so lies with Diaby and Walcott, who consistently made the wrong decision in Tottenham’s final third.
The problem with Aliadiere comes at home I believe. He tends to play at his own pace, in movement and thought, and this is quite a bit slower than our other first teamers. This is not necessarily a bad thing- as Anfield proved- but in games at the emirates it may appear as if he slowing down our moves or looking off the pace. I think Wenger will continue to use him in away games because of this.
Good player though and he has made big strides forward.

I’ve always thought Aliadiere was a decent player - obviously Wenger thinks so and he knows more than we do - but he is injured often and it’s hard to count on a player that is always on the training table. Hopefully he will be able to stay healthy (unlike poor Freddie).

I predicted Aliadiere would do zilch against Tottenham and that’s what happened. The fact is, he’s never really done anything much at Arsenal - except score some Carling Cup goals. The best game he ever had - Liverpool - he was up against two rookie defenders that no-one’s ever heard of. He did well, but you have to look at the opposition as well. As soon as you pit him with first team Premiership regulars, he’s back to being anonymous.
I have nothing against him, I admire his willingness to stick it out and try and force his way into the first team - but you also have to ask, does he really have ambition or is he just living in a comfort zone, picking up the easy money.
Aliadiere will never do anything for Arsenal, I very much doubt he is in Wenger’s long term plans - and furthermore, when he leaves, I don’t think he’ll make his mark for another Premiership club either. He can play and score against Bolton, but I still won’t change my mind about him - Baptista should start.

Ali didn’t do “zilch” against Spurs– he had a couple of nice runs, a couple of good shots that were just wide, and set Fabregas up early on a wide-open goal, only for Fabregas’ first touch to take him too wide of the goal to get a shot off… certainly not Ali’s fault… yeah, he didn’t score against Spurs, but nobody else on the team, except Baptista, did either– and Baptista played the whole game, scoring after Ali went off injured.
As for the idea that Ali plays/thinks slower than the other players (expressed above), I think that is absurd– just as it is absurd to contend that Arsenal plays at a faster pace at home than away. Aliadiere was one of the quickest, most active players on the field when we played Liverpool, and he showed no lack of activity against Spurs, either.

Will this Setanta Premium broadcast require a pay-per-view fee to watch, or will this game be shown on that extra Setanta channel (670 on my DirecTV listings, versus 615 for regular Setanta)? In other words, do I have to pay to see this game live?

Here’s a link (http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm) that explains P2P streaming. It also has player downloads so that you can watch the game for free. I watched the Man U-Portsmouth (and Birmingham City-Reading)games for free. Another argument for video replay as Vidic had a clear goal discounted. Most of the time the broadcasts are not in english.
