BBC Sport is reporting that Emmanuel Adebayor and two Togo teammates have been kicked out of the national team following a row over bonus payments. The full story can be viewed at
According to ESPN’s Soccernet, “Adebayor, who scored twice in Togo’s 3-1 weekend victory over Sierra Leone in Lome, has said he was considering his international future after receiving death threats when he threatened to boycott Saturday’s African Nations Cup qualifier.”
Personally, I don’t care, actually, and selfishly, I’d rather he not play international football, and that goes for all the other Gunners. That’s a bigger topic for lots of discussion.

Too many games for these players.
The World Cup destroyed Henry this year… he played all the way thru the CL Final and went right through to the Final game of the World Cup.
We have all this fixture congestion… 4 games in 11 days… and shite like that, and then teams like Fulham have 2 matches in 4 WEEKS… because of International matches during the season.
TOGO owe him and his teammates CASH BONUSES… and they should all boycott until they get paid.
I am glad he’s off the team.

I wish that every Arsenal player got dropped from their respective international squad. Either that or they all mysteriously turn up injured during international breaks.

I hope he is protesting the bonuses not being paid, on principle and for is less well off teammates and not because he is greedy. Do you know the GDP of that country? When Ade signs his next contract it will probobly jump 20%!
But yeah it would be nice to have fresh players next season.

We will need Ade on Sat. With Eboue and Clichy back, will Wenger finally field his first choice defence? In midfield too, we should have everyone. Only strikers will be missing.

Its greed to want to be paid the bonus you were promised?
How the heck does that work?
If they offer a bonus, and you meet the criteria, I don’t care WHAT you are paid, they OWE YOU the bonus.
I am sure Ade will be alright without it… but every other player on Togo probably NEEDS the money.
