The top English teams began each season optimistically looking at five targets:

Winning the European Champions League
Winning the Premiership
Winning the FA Cup
Winning the Carling Cup
Qualifying for the next European Champions League

Well, it’s only March, and for Arsenal the first four are already down the tubes. But arguably the last objective is financially the most important, and is also critical to attracting and retaining the best players. Despite all our troubles this season, we’re still well positioned for that....

I cant work today. I’m really nervous and they arent showing the game live on TV here in India so I’ll have to sit and follow it online at 1:30am in the night.

PSV has Da Costa and Kromkamp missing but I doubt it’ll really matter in a one-off knockout cup game where average players can make up for the loss of very good players. Philip Cocu will once again have a big role to play with his experience where he nearly sent AC Milan out 3 years ago but I dont know enough of PSV nor have I watched them to comment who will be influential enough. I dont know how good Farfan...

I am not a fan of Senderos. I’ve been very critical of him over the past two years and have even gone as far as to say we should bring back Cygan. Do I honestly think we should bring back Cygan, of course not. He had his four years but simply was not good enough but I appreciate his effort and wish him the best.

It’s been three years since Senderos was initially brought in to the first team. He put in some descent performances considering his young age. We’ve all been patiently waiting for him to turn a corner and truly elevate his game with some consistent high-quality...

A double-shot of Brazilian finishing, and a survival of late minute pressure, give Arsenal a much needed win and hopefully a badly needed boost of confidence for next week?s massive match with PSV.

A cobbled together team hang on for the win.

Baptista gets his first goal(61) despite his less than sparkling touch to make it 2-0. Its his 13th appearance for Arsenal. Overall a decent performance. He set up Fabregas for what should have been a tap-in first goal but Fabregas fumbled the pass...

well fans, with the upcoming fixture v. PSV on 7 march, we will have the dubious opportunity to officially be eliminated from 3 cup competitions in the span of 11 days…. we had been experiencing a nice run of form since the new year, prior to that lackluster champions’ league leg 1 yawner last week. then came the carling cup fiasco. you have got to hand it to chelsea, (he says with much sarcasm), they eked one out with a full strength side in defense of two straight EPL championships versus a side that virtually needed similac at the half just to avoid proverbial nap time. the...
