The data we had coming over from the other site didn't have as many fields, so we had to just import one into another and hope for the best. It's just that wordpress makes fewer database calls than Postnuke (our old system) and some of the stuff is 'static' rather than dynamically generated. Lowers server load and improves performance. We had a lot of problems with that this year (long story) and we're taking this 'off time' (you may notice premium registration is no longer available) to come up with a better solution.
