That’s the image that’s been making its’ way around the various Arsenal forums the last two days. While there are many people claiming that it’s a Photoshopped fake, Blogger on Arseblog.com swears up and down that it’s legit. I tend to believe him, as he’s usually right about these kind of things.
As for the kit itself, I have a few questions. White? Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to wear the same color as the Scum? I have to admit though, I do quite like the shorts, and the hooped socks are very retro. I’m just not sure how many shirts Arsenal & Nike think they’re going to sell. Anyway, the pre-sale starts on Monday, so I guess we’ll have some official images released by then at the latest and then we’ll all know for sure.

I personally really like the new kit, particularly the socks and the shorts…So what that Totties or Real Madrid wear white…..who cares??? Our away kit was white before it was Yellow/Blue. I think it’s very stylish. I just hope we win more with this kit.

Arsenal Supporters,
Am I the only that does not like the “Fly Emirates” logo on the shirt? I don’t know, it just seems even more commercial than other sponsors. Every sponsor pays a lot of money to have its name on the shirt as an advertisment - I know and accept that - but how many actually say to go do something? “FLY Emirates!” It’s like if Nestle sponsored the team and the logo was “Eat Kit-Kat.” Imagine that - Kit-Kat Stadium.
I really liked the O2 shirts, every one of them (although the gold 3rd shirt was pushing it a bit). The previous line of shirts was representing something fundamental, pure, technical, and the logo design was simple and effective. So many words and ideas that come to mind when thinking about Arsenal. This “Fly Emirates” thing…I don’t know.
And why do Manchester United and all other Nike sponsored teams have plently of club apparel without their respective sponsors’ logos all over them? I’d love an Arsenal training top without a logo. >:-I

Karim, got to TOFFS.com, and get yourself a retro shirt… no sponsers.
I don’t like Fly Emirates either, but hey, I’ve seen DORITOS in orange on a kit before, now thats awful. So it could be worse.
I don’t mind the all white. Similar to the Totts? I guess, but there are always complaints regardless of what color or style the shirt is.
I prefer the no collar, and I think its a pretty sharp shirt overall.

I’m glad we brought back the maroon. I know red is our color by tradition but for some reason nearly every team in the world wears red or blue. That dark red is just so much better looking than plain red and white. It seems that every other team Nike dresses has a kit that looks better than Arsenal’s. These colors are simply hot and change all of that. I bought the warm-up from two years ago.
But those freaking socks are ridiculous. They remind me of that horror movie from the eighties where the clown tries to grab the kid and drag him under the bed. I can’t remember the name of that movie but I could swear those are the socks that clown was wearing. At least now Senderos has some socks to match his clown shoes.

I don’t mind the away colour, yellow all the time would feel kinda bore. I saw Arsenal wearing Green and Black playing away back in the 80s, it was one of my favourite Arsenal jersey. This new white and maroon looks kinda cool too.
but of course, I will never want the HOME kit to change its colour! i love red and white!

Is this THE away kit, or an alternate? I don’t mind it much if it’s the alternate, but I kind of like the yellow. One thing to notice is that the picture has Henry and Cesc in it. Teams don’t usually use players in promo photos if they are going to be leaving anytime soon.

The irony being that Chapman was the one who brought in the red shirt in 1933… Nike must use the same pool of history fact checkers as Mel Gibson did for Braveheart. I actually really liked the redcurrant shirts from two seasons ago. If this is the new kit, well I think it looks sharp — socks included, they remind me of Bayern Munich’s.

Seattlegooner,
Unfortunately, we’ve seen somthing to the contrary just last season. Reyes was in the official team photo and all the Nike ads for the new Fly Emirates shirt. They were the ones with the team walking in full kit with their cleats on somewhere in a neighborhood - presumably walking from Highbury to the new stadium. Reyes left just after…let’s hope that’s NOT the case with (arguably) our two most important players.

I don’t like this kit. Not because it’s white, but because it looks too similar to our home kit. What happens when we play Liverpool or Real Madrid? I prefer four different colors for the home and away kit. That’s why red, white, blue/gray and yellow worked well. I didn’t like it when it was all blue either.

The new kit looks clean & sharp, but as stated looks like a Spurs or Man U jersey. Because of this I wonder if they will bring back a 3rd kit as they had in the past. Any this past years yellow kit should be going on mark down shortly. I’ll probably just buy both.

Dont really care about the away kit. As long as we do better than last season, thats all i care. But we all can disagree

Plain white just doesn’t suit me, I like the colored trim in this 1st link

OFF TOPIC:
Let me be one of the first to say…
YAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

June 7th, 2007 at 2:44 pm
Check this out, it makes me laugh. Let’s just say - let the no sin cast the first rock. Chelsea don’t have the RIGHT to moan about this one do they?
“Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has responded angrily to claims that Real Madrid are in talks with Dutch winger Arjen Robben, stating: ‘We note that Mr Calderon confirms Real Madrid spoke to Arjen and as a result Chelsea will be writing to Fifa to ask them to investigate an illegal approach by Real Madrid.’”
June 7th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
What do want from Chelski. Did you see their new kit? Bright neon yellow.
June 7th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Now Yaya is one I could go for, Stag. Admittedly I don’t know much about him but if he’s as active a player as his brother Kolo & he plays in midfield, I’ll take him.

I personally prefer staying with the colors and style they have now. Changing the shirts every one or two seasons is just another scam to make more money…with that I’m actually headed to London from july 3rd-7th, anyone know of any Gunner related events going on? I know I’m just missing the preseason games, but if anyone knows anything please let me know.
June 8th, 2007 at 4:25 pm
Don’t know why they have to change from the yellow away kit to white? Best thing to do is to vote with our wallets if we do not like the new kit. That will send a clear message to Nike.
June 9th, 2007 at 8:44 am
I don’t actually think that Nike has as much to say about it as we are giving them credit for. Arsenal is run by a rather formidable board, not a sneaker company… and merchandising revenue is a good portion of where the club gets its money.
Personally, I like the shirt, but I already have a half dozen shirts between the replica and training range from the past few seasons, of which I probably only wear the redcurrant one on a regular basis, so I doubt I’ll be in a hurry to purchase another… but I wouldn’t say vote for Nike with your wallet. The club gains more revenue than Nike does from the sale as Nike’s money isn’t in royalties per shirt, it’s through the licensing costs.

One little fact to think about the two colors that win the most have been red and yellow. I like the white but agree about not really liking the idea of it being a little to close to the spurs…
