Phew!
Like Arsenal qualifying for Europe these past two seasons, Fox Soccer Channel left it late. However, the Fulham game WILL be shown on Fox Soccer Channel this Sunday after all, live @ 7 AM ET, 4 AM PT.
So far the Prague game is only ITV in the UK. Anyone know if it’ll be on anywere in the US?
And have I gone mad or is Arsenal TV strangely absent from Gol’s upcoming schedules?

I will not be in town for the Fulham match anyway, thanks to the reschedule, but how many times are they going to keep moving it around? Like Mike said the other day, I have Fox Soccer and Setanta so that I get to see nearly every fixture. I am not paying for Fox Broadband. If this keeps up, it is going to be really difficult to know when to watch or record Arsenal’s appearances. I’m keeping this short mainly because my patience with the Fox Soccer/Setanta rotation is wearing thin.
Yes, Arsenal TV is off GolTV. Maybe it will reappear once a few matches are in the table.
The good news is that the appearance on Fox Soccer will allow more Gooners to see the first EPL fixture.

Praise him in glorious High Definition, The news may be late but better than never
Cheers
I was getting really upset that the 1st game of the season didn’t look like it was going to make it. And I don’t think we should blame Fox or Set who knows what kind of licensing issues they have to go through to get the games on each week
I’m in New Orleans so I’ll be drinking bloody maries at home at 6am, If there are any other gunners in the area let me know of any place that might be showing the game i’ll buy the 1st round.
COME ON YOU GUNNERS

I emailed both Gol TV and Arsenal regarding Arsenal TV, but haven’t gotten a response.
Arseblogger posted something today about Setanta negotiating with the club to carry the new Arsenal TV channel. However, Setanta USA already carry the Chelsea TV and Man United TV programs, so Arsenal TV doesn’t seem to be an option.
Doesn’t look promising, but, neither Gol TV nor FSC are very good at informing viewers about programming, so maybe Arsenal TV will magically reappear on Gol TV again.

While i wasn’t getting any info on the net yesterday in regards to The internet Broaband channel on foxsoccer.com, I took it upon myself to email every name in regards to FSC, FOX Sports and FSI (Fox Soccer International). Well i finally got a call and email back from the marketing dept in regards to the broadband channel. And today i see it will now be on the reg channel. Hopefully i was helped the cause this time!!

Here is the email i got yesterday from Fox Soccer Marketing Coordinator:
From: Ben Alkaly [mailto:Ben.Alkaly@fox.com]
Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2007 2:30 PM
To: Wegner, Alex
Subject: RE: Foxsoccer.com internet broadband
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your inquiry. Details of the FoxSoccer.com broadband package should be announced later this week. Via a subscription service, you will be able to watch up to two live Barclays Premier League matches per week which do not air live on Fox Soccer Channel (including Arsenal-Fulham in week 1). In addition, those matches which do air live on FSC will be available in-demand through foxsoccer.com, on a slightly-delayed basis. There will be three subscription options:
- A single-match “a la carte” option
- A multi-game pack that enables you to pick-and-choose matches throughout the season
- or a season-long pass
Unfortunately I don’t have pricing details at this time, but they will be announced within the next few days at FoxSoccer.com.
FoxSoccer.com will also offer highlights of all weekend Premier League matches free of charge, beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday evenings.
Keep checking FoxSoccer.com for details regarding the broadband package and highlight packages. Thanks again for your interest, and for watching Fox Soccer Channel!
- Ben

they must have changed late yesterday, every sight, including Fox, has the game listed as FSC Sunday at 7. but a Marketing person said it would be broadband… strange stuff. Eitherway. What an amazing day Sunday’s going to be for me… Arsenal @ 7, end of chelsea Birmingham at 10, Readign and United at 11… then it’s off to the Revs Gallaxy game at 3 for tailgating till 7pm. Anyone else in New England headed to the game?
August 9th, 2007 at 11:39 am
I hope this is true, I already had setanta, but now just upgraded to Fox, which isn’t a bad deal because there are about 30 other channels that come with it for only $12/month. This is my first season as a true fan, so I’m overly excited for Sunday. Thanks for the info.

Hi there, new to the site. I’m Greg, a gooner in South Jersey (outside Philly). I bet Fox is having some issues with the broadband service. I work in broadcasting and know how problematic these rollouts can be sometimes.
Arsenal 3 Fulham 1
August 9th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Thank you higher powers! Any Charlotte Gunners in the University area we’ll be watching the game at 11:30 am!
August 9th, 2007 at 12:25 pm
I have Direct Tv and I just checked the guide listings for Sunday 7am on FSC and it’s listing the “2007 Youth Championship Cup” or something along those lines for that date and time, so I truly hope that this will be updated and I hope the match will be on as I also have Setanta & Setanta X-tra and usually dont miss a single EPL or Champ Liga match for the Gunners, we’ll see??? But as of now 1:30pm Thurs. it’s not listed on their tele programme guide???
UP THE ARSE
August 9th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
Im the same as the previous poster, it still says the same thing. I hope that its going to be on! I am really kinda ticked now that I pay for Setanta monthly, now on top of it, Im going to have to pay for some broadband service if I want to ensure I can see my boys play?
and 4_Arsenal, I live up close to Winston Salem, but I may be down in the Char area on Sunday. Why waiting till 11:30 am to watch though? (I used to live in Charlotte)
August 9th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
Couple of my slacker gooner friends are restaurant workers. 7:00 is not a option for them. It’s hard for me to wait. But the HD DVR makes it possible. Plus I need to do the church thing with the fam. But the beers or bloody’s will be in effect!
August 9th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
Wait, is FSC showing matches in HD this year? Did I miss that memo? I have the DirecTV HD DVR and HD package, but I had not heard of them doing the games in HD this year or anything. I have to be at church at 9am as well, so Ill just probably be watching it at home prior to going and then catching ManUre v Reading as soon as I get home. You should email me if you get the chance. Chances are we may know some of the same folks if we are talking about Gooners here. Jason.Steelman@wachovia.com
August 9th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
I wish! Could you imagine EPL in HD. Hopefully soon!! That’s just the DVR we have in the main room. I’ll send you an email. We’re always getting together for the matches. If you’re in town and want to check one out let me know.
August 9th, 2007 at 2:41 pm
FSC is hoping to feature some matches in HD, but they said that last season too.
August 9th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Setanta said the same thing last season when I called them. I do believe it is coming. Slowly.
August 9th, 2007 at 2:52 pm
FSC wasn’t even on the list of HD channels DTV THINKS they MIGHT be adding in September (you’re right, I am cynical about DTV’s claims). I’m not counting on HD footie any time soon.
And why the hell has next week’s match been moved to a 24 hour delay? What has this new TV deal wrought?
August 9th, 2007 at 3:24 pm
What is the deal with ArsenalTV. Can you watch matches live on ArsenalTV. Am I blowing $8/month on this for nothing? I can’t get Setanta, no satelite’s allowed in the building.
August 9th, 2007 at 3:25 pm
Beats me! I was looking forward to catching the game at Nevada’s!
August 9th, 2007 at 3:44 pm
It’s posted on the tele guide now for 7:00am, so now it’s there and hopefully it’ll remain there as such!! My predictions will be Arsenal 2 Fulscum 0, well the only one thats not a Fulscum is Clint Dempsey & Brian McBride, other than that screw Fulham and Up the Arsenal!!!
August 9th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
For those looking for TV info for matches, this is the best site I have found: http://www.soccertv.com/. You can also use http://www.soccertv.com/england.cfm to go a bit further into the future since the main link only shows the next 24 hours.
Bad news is the Blackburn match is supposed to be on Fox Sports Broadband as of today. This is similar to, but worse than paying for MLS DirectKick and not seeing matches on TeleFutura.
DirecTV will have much more HD capacity soon. They are launching another satellite for this purpose, although the launch schedule has been delayed.
August 9th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
@emonahan - ArsenalTV is a show produced by the club that was broadcast last season on GolTV. It seems that it has not been renewed for this season.
ArsenalTV Online is the club’s online video and audio streaming site. It broadcasts live audio of every match, and provides video highlights, interviews, etc.
August 9th, 2007 at 4:07 pm
Actually, the DTV satellite is up now. They’ve announced 70 new channels, to be rolled out bit by bit, come September. But satellites up or not, their history is over-promise, under deliver.

My ITVN box just arrived, for 14.95 a month you can get their Setanta sports package and catch some of the games you miss from fox, plus some champions league, Euro Qualifiers, etc. You just need a high speed internet connection. If you sign up for a year, the box is free. What is the quality of video? I don’t know, but it’s got to be better than that grainy Arsenal TV footage. Was it me or did Goltv look like those old NFL films from the seventies?

4_Arsenal:
I am a Charlotte Gooner. I live near uptown, in Wilmore. Lets figure something out.
August 10th, 2007 at 10:40 am
They show Champ Leag matches on ESPN2HD
And can you order Arsenal TV through the Arsenal web sight in the U.S.
I was reading over the sign up part and it was a little unclear, plus its like 40 pounds for a year thats $80 does anyone have it and is it worth it
Any Gunners in the New Orleans area? and where can you go to watch the games? im new to New Orleans
August 10th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Joshbk send me an email and I will send you one back with the info. My email is liquidsun14@hotmail.com. As I’m sure you read we’re going to be watching it at 11:30. Hope to hear from you.

Reading these posts has confirmed my worst fears: Gol has dropped Arsenal TV - the only program I looked forward to every week and the reason I subscribed to Gol TV in the first place!
I have FSC/Gol on Direct TV, but I dropped Setanta becasue all of it non-soccer programming.
What’s a gooner to do?
