Arsenal 3 – 2 Sunderland

Robin van Persie’s 80th minute strike saved the Gunners from potential embarrassment as Arsenal had to overcome an unlikely Sunderland comeback from two goals down to win 3-2 at Dubai-bury this morning.
Arsenal took the lead early thanks to a thunderous van Persie free kick, and doubled their lead through Phillip Senderos after only thirteen minutes.
However, Sunderland seemed to inherit the stubbornness of their manager, Roy Keane, scoring the next two goals to set up a tense last 40 minutes of the match.
The Gunners had several chances to re-take the lead, and it finally happened after some good work by Theo Walcott who teed up van Persie for the winner.
Now there’s no Arsenal for thirteen days due to the international break. Sigh. I hate international breaks. I just pray everyone comes back healthy and in once piece.
