Without that red-faced gerbil, Sammy Lee, Bolton might actually improve… Arf, arf. Okay, scrap that fantasy. This is a underperforming team in disarray, lacking confidence or shape, and without their only hope of goal - Nicolas “butterfly wings” Anelka.
Arsenal 3.0 should cream them with a couple of goals in the first half, then saunter to a third later on. After the Derby lesson about letting complacency creep in, even against the worst Prem teams, there won’t any excuses if we let Bolton get a toe-hold. Not even International duty.
Adebayor and Eduardo are set to start up front, so here’s hoping Dudu starts to impose his speed and agility in the hurly burly of the EPL. And Sagna has redyed his hair, judging by his French outing, so his Samson-curse should be lifted.
Over to you tacticians…

There’s can never be a better time to play Bolton. They are managerless, Anelka’s out and am sure all their players are all gloomy.
2-0 to the Arsenal. Should be a walk over irrespective. Too bad Rvp’s out. At least Eduardo gets he’s chance. It’s too bad we are going to miss Rvp against Liverpool and ManUtd. Let’s our boys come away unscathed after facing Bolton.

I am hoping Eduardo scores. He needs a league goal to boost his confidence.

I think this won’t be a banana skin. The 3-2 victory over Sunderland helps, the kids now must be fully awared that u can’t take anything for granted, and need to stay focus for full 90 mins.
RvP’s absence may not turn out to be a bad thing. As with RvP and Ade’s recent form, it’s hard to see how Eduardo and Bendtner getting their chances.
It may be too much to ask for Eduardo to score right away, make no mistake he’s the purest natural goalscorer I have seen for a long time at Arsenal since Wrightly or later the short spell of Davor Suker.
strikers need a run of games more than anyone else to pick up their form. I am pretty sure Eduardo will.
heard that AW is considering starting Walcott at attack as well. So it would be interesting to see how our 2nd tier strikers perform.

btw, of the Lehmann Vs Alumnia issue, I think Joshuad was spot on on the previous thread. It’s very much another media act to make something out of nothing. blowing everything way over the top.
bottom line is - few players or managers (espeically those from big clubs) would ASK for interview. In fact, they are probably sick of it. If we have heard Jens making noises, that’s probably simply because someone was interviewing him. Unlikely Jens would call the reporters and say come to interview me, i got things to say!
Fabanski probably believes he’s the best among the 3 too! but shame that no one is interested to hear how he feel (at least for now).

denilson got a new deal, which i guess is bad for all of u haters out there lol.
i think thats good news. he, fabregas, diaby and diarra will make an awesome central midfield foursome. and diarra is the oldest at 22! yet they can boss most prem midfields. good.
as for bolton i dont really like that they sacked their coach just before they played us…..teams play randomly after these kind of events. they can either be utterly woeful or they might stun us. one never knows with these kind of in flux teams.
crossing my fingers hoping for a 3-1 ….adebayor, fabregas, eduardo.

Walcott is getting better and better isn’t he?! That run when he first came in was amazing, u don’t get to see that often from any English player.

Looks like a solid win for the Gunners. I predict Villa draws ManU.

Good win. First half was getting over the international break hangover. In the second half, you knew we would score. Bolton became officially the first team to park the bus at the Emirates. They also played a lot of high balls which caused Gallas a lot of problems. I don’t think he won a single header vs Davies. Ade had a typically frustrating evening continuing his poor form at 1:1s. Walcott is getting better. But Eduardo still looks rusty.
October 20th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
hey Brendan, same as u, also had a hunch that Villa might nick a draw!
yeah nipuna, eduardo looks a bit rusty. but i guess it’s natural, he hasn’t been playing much. should be able to get better after more games.
my MOM has to be Ade again. though he missed many good chances, the man worked so damn hard, and so important to our attacking build up play.
on the other hand, Eboue deserved to have a kick on his back side. Awful. And as a midfielder, u ought to work harder than attackers. the fact that Adebayor worked 10 times harder than Eboue sums up the story.

and btw, anyone recall Alumnia has actually made a SINGLE save? i can’t recall any.

Anyone that saw the game care to comment on AW’s substitutions. I couldn’t find anywhere to watch the game. But it seems as if AW’s subs injected some life into the match. Sometimes his substitution patterns take some flack on this site, but it looks as if he pushed the right buttons today.
October 20th, 2007 at 12:42 pm
His subs were spot on. Walcott injected pace which exploited the tiring Bolton defence. This is the kind of game, which time and again, shows why we need a pacy winger. It can change a game and be the difference between a draw and a win. Right now, I am just glad that Walcott is producing the goods.

Well so much for my prediction. Villa just completely shit the bed. If Zat Knight can keep Curtis Davies out of the 1st team, then I am glad we never signed Davies.

Good stuff today by the gunners! The first half was just too physical and the team never really flowed. The second half was a lot better and Wengers substitutions were very good. Theo did really good today. You can see he is growing in confidence and I am not complaining!! Ade should have scored at least one goal today. He inconsistency in frustrating at times but if there is one thing you cannot fault him for is working hard and creating space for others on the team. Overall I am pleased with the result. Lets look on to the Champions league game and Liverpool next week! Go gunners!

Not only have Villa bottled but so has the ref. They are reduced to 9 men.
