The Arsenal America board is pleased to announce a dinner to be held this January in honor of Danny Karbassiyoon. Most of you will know Danny as the first and only American to have scored a competitive goal for Arsenal. Danny grabbed the winner against Manchester City in the Carling Cup back in 2004. Forced to retire due to knee injuries, Danny is now Arsenal’s chief scout for the North American region.
The dinner is going to be held the evening of January 25, 2008 in Washington DC. The exact restaurant will be announced soon, but our choice of location is going depend on the level of interest we get from members who would like to attend.

I would like to attend the dinner Thursday 25Jan08. I am interested in meeting all the Arsenal America crew along with Danny. Please let me know any details when they’re available.

Would love to attend the DC dinner, possibly with my son as well. I see Rick will be there–we met him last spring at the West Ham game and want to hear his stories of Zimbabwe!

ooo i would love to go but our restaurant team is going to play in the setanta cup in miami that weekend. did i suggest our team wants danny here instead of dc that day? have a nice dinner, mates!

u know what? i thought it’s on saturday. now i see jan 25th is a friday. i may be able to go. but could u let me know the restaurant asap? also, i netta know which airport is closest to that place so i can book my flight early too! and if mike can show me where to go overnight, than i don’t netta book a hotel… many uncertainties for now!

Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the nearest. You can take Metro (the subway) directly from the airport to Dupont Circle.

Hi all,
I will be flying over from London for the dinner along with (touch wood that the Club come through) a special surprise……………..bring your cameras is all I will say!! Looking forward to catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and telling tales of Zimbabwe!!!
