It’s Spurs.
We all knew it would be, and sure enough, Arsenal were drawn against Spurs for the semi-final round of the Carling Cup. The semi-final is a two-legged tie, and the first match will take place at the Grove on either the 8th or 9th of January, while the second will be at Spurs the week of January 21st.
In the other tie, it’s Chelsea v Everton, so a rematch of last year’s controversial final is still a possibility.

I can’t wait. And if anything, this CC side is stronger than the one last year.

have a feeling it may be a repeat of last season….. we see off Spurs in the semi, yet get beaten by Chelsea in the final.
can’t really see Everton beat Cheslea. and can’t really see Chelsea would field a weaker side if they break into final neither. A full strength Chelsea side would be too much for an Arsenal B side. Unlike Spurs, Chelsea are surely not a paper tiger. And they are surely not a bunch of bottlers like them neither.

Play your strongest team in the league games and the others in the Carling Cup. Even then, we might prove stronger than Spurs. If not, not much is lost and those who played will get a valuable lesson.

It’s all going to be “mashed potatoes”. Soft “Spuds” churned in a bowl sounds liked mashed potatoes to me. Who knows maybe they’ll get Diarrhea and bottle, no it’s they’re trying to get Lassana Diarra; any which way it’s all mashed potatoes.
Hey it may be Che$ki’s only chance at some silverware, of course they’ll field a strong side! I hope the boss sticks with this young side. All those studs and I do mean cleats.

If we meet Chelski in the finals, they will be without Drogba - he’s the only real player that has troubled us in the past few seasons (Robben was the other before he got frozen out by Jose and eventually sold off).
Drogba’s out injured, and when he returns it will be the ACN so no drogba for unless Ivory Coast gets knocked out early. Don’t know if Terry will be fit again by Feb but assuming he’s not Chelsea would likely have bought a striker and CB to take cover.
I’m with Wenger on his CC policy. Let our kids play every CC match, win or lose. To me, winning th CC is a bonus for our kids, to keep those on the bench happy since they’re not all going to get games in the league/CL/FA Cup.
In fact, I hope Wenger does the same with the FA Cup, play our kids - they seem to be a pretty good cup squad! Let our senior plays focus on the league and CL!

The final of the ANC is on 10 Feb, the CC final is 24 Feb. So Drogba & Essien should be back by then unless they sustain injury during the tournament.
