Our ticket officer, Rick B has scored a major coup. Check out his post from the Arsenal forum on the Big Soccer message boards:

“As most of you know by now from looking at the pictures and reading other threads, I have with me the FA CUP Replica from the 2005 season which we won by beating Man U on penalties. I also have the runners up trophy from the 1995 Super Cup which we lost to AC Milan. Other memorabilia I have left secure in Washington as I was unable to transport it around the US with me.

The club finally agreed that we were able to take the trophy and...

All Bay Area Gooners (AA members & non-members alike) are invited to join the San Francisco Branch at Maggie McGarrys, this Saturday, February 2nd at 9:00AM PST for the Arsenal - Manchester City match.

Maggie McGarrys, a pub in North Beach regularly shows Premiership action on their 5 flat-screen televisions.

Come try a Walcott (orange juice and Hefeweizen)! Maggie’s is great place to catch the matches with other Bay Area Gooners!

PLEASE NOTE: Since actual match time is 4:45 AM PST, Maggie’s is showing it on tape-delay, and we cannot guarantee...

No, it’s not deja vu all over again. Indeed, thanks to goals by Adebayor, Flamini (sick goal too), and Cesc, the Gunners beat Newcastle 3-0 for the second time in three days.

(Have to run into a meeting now… more later if Dan or someone hasn’t added anything by then)

EDIT (the next morning) - Right, well, no one’s added anything.  No biggie. Everything’s pretty much been said in the comments below.  Newcastle never really threatened, and to be fair, the Gunners could have been two or three up by halftime.

Mathieu Flamini was the outstanding...

Wow, the match kicks off in just under two hours, and still no previews coming in. Perhaps everyone just figures it’s more of the same after Saturday’s Cup match. Well, in some respects, it is. The questions coming into tonight are:

1) What will the side look like?

2) Can the Gunners exploit Newcastle to lower that goal differential any?

It’s been a while since we’ve beaten Newcastle in the league, so as far as I’m concerned, tonight’s as good a time as any to get a nice big win.

Also, I’m working on a recap of the dinner...

In the draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup which took place just moments ago in London, Arsenal were drawn away to Man United.

The match will take place the weekend of February 16/17, and you’ve got to figure that with a glamour tie such as this, it’ll be on Setanta PPV, but nothing’s certain yet.

One thing is certain, that’s going to be one hell of week...

So much for the headbutt.

Emmanuel Adebayor shook off any affects from “Buttgate” and scored twice to propel Arsenal past Newcastle in a potentially tricky 4th-round FA Cup tie.

Adebayor scored early in the 2nd half off an Eduaro shot that hit the post, then scored late in the half to put the game away. Nicky Butt added an own goal to cap off the 3-0 win.

Newcastle played an open style, as expected under new(ish) manager Kevin Keegan, but were shut out for the 2nd consecutive match.

Nicklas Bendtner sat quietly on the bench.

Cup History:

Arsenal’s last two F.A Cup ties against Newcastle both came in league and F.A Cup winning double years. The first was the 1998 final when Overmars and Anelka scored the goals in a 2-0 win to lead Arsenal to their first F.A Cup win under Wenger. Arsenal’s line up for that day was Seaman, Dixon, Winterburn, Keown, Adams, Vieira, Petit, Anelka , Overmars ,Wreh (Platt sub on @ 62 min), Parlour.

The second was in 2002 when Arsenal needed two games to dispatch Newcastle. In the first game away to St. James’ Park, Edu scored a goal in the 14th...

Back in the summer of 2004 Arsenal played their final preseason friendly against Beveren of the Belgian league (from whom we received Eboue). The only invincible to travel with the team that day was Lauren. However, the remainder of the squad included, along with Danny Karbassiyoon, young players by the names of Bentley, Hoyte, Aliadiere, Senderos, Clichy, van Persie and a kid named Cesc (who was sporting a strange mullet hairstyle). Beveren is a small club with a smaller stadium, and the atmosphere was very informal, with a crowd of about 1500 in attendance. During warmups Rick B (who had...

A good win against Fulham who rarely threatened to be frank but 3 points none the same which is great. Back to the CC we’re ridiculously short at the back without 4 centre backs. I have mixed feelings about Gallas stepping in. It does solidify the back four but if he gets injured now; we’re in a big big soup. Unfortunately this happened to Sendy when he was really playing well. This is what happens all the time when he’s got a chance and then when he has an iffy game on coming back; people have a field day cursing him. Anyway Myles Palmer predicted a Spurs - Chelsea final;...
