Two previews today, first up is Sachin’s….
History:
Arsenal’s record against Man City has been very impressive ever since City got promoted back to the Premier League in the 2000/01 season. The Gunners have won 11 of 13 league games since then (outscoring City 29-6), drawn one and lost one (last year’s away fixture 1-0). The 1-1 tie on Jan 4, 2005 crushed Arsenal’s title hopes leaving them 7 points back of Chelsea. In this period, Arsenal had their best two games against City in that 2000/01 season when they thrashed City 5-0 at Highbury and won 4-0 away.
Overall, Arsenal have won 81 times, drawn 37 with City winning 41 games since the two first met in the 1893/94 season. Historically, Arsenal’s best away win came on Feb 22, 2003 when they won 5-1 with Bergkamp, Pires, Henry, Campbell and Vieira getting on the score sheet that day. City’s lone consolation goal in the 87th minute came courtesy of Anelka. Arsenal’s full line-up that day was: Taylor,Lauren, Keown, Campbell, Van Bronckhorst, Wiltord (Jeffers sub on 74 min), Gilberto, Vieira, Pires (Edu on 74 min) , Bergkamp (Parlour on 64 min), Henry.
City’s biggest home win over Arsenal was a 4-0 result all the way back on Jan 18, 1908. And the biggest win Arsenal have registered (home and away) against City was a 7-3 game on Oct 6, 1956. The only time both league games between Arsenal and City ended 0-0 was in the 1993/94 season.
Current Season — A surprising city
Manchester City began the new season in the best possible manner, winning their opening 3 games to briefly sit at the top of the league — a 2-0 away win to West Ham kicked things off, followed by two 1-0 home wins, including a memorable 1-0 home triumph over rivals Man Utd (courtesy of a deflected Geovanni beauty in the 31st minute). Arsenal handed City their first defeat of the season with a 80th minute Cesc strike.
Currently, City are in 6th place on 41 points, just two short of the final Champions League spot. If it were not for City’s poor away form (which included a 6-0 thumping away to Chelsea), they would have been placed much higher. At home, Man City are currently unbeaten with 9 wins and 3 draws. Away from the City of Manchester stadium, they have only picked up 2 wins, drawn 4 and lost 5 times.
City will be glad to be back home after two disappointing away games this past week. They were knocked out of the F.A Cup on the weekend 2-1 by Sheffield Utd, including a comical opening goal for the Blades where the balloons inside the penalty box appeared to guide the ball towards Shelton to open the scoring in the 12th minute. Then on Wed, Jan 30 City were held to a 1-1 tie away to Derby.
Away from North London, Arsenal have 6 wins, 4 draws and just one defeat. At home, Arsenal have 11 wins and 2 draws. 3 points are a must for Arsenal on Sat, as they need to keep pace with Man Utd and Chelsea. Man Utd are away to Spurs on Sat and if Jonathan Woodgate does not get injured in the next 2 days, he should help Man U by scoring an own goal to get things started. Chelsea are away to Pompey and should manage to grind out another 1-0 win.
After this Sat’s game, City’s next game is at Old Trafford on Feb 10.
Where do the goals come from?
Arsenal currently lead the league with most goals scored at 49. It is not a surprize to see that 25 of those 49 goals (51%) have come from outside the penalty area. But this season, the Gunners have been diversifying their goal-scoring portfolio by grabbing goals from inside the 6 yard box (8 times) and even by headers. Out of the 17 goals that Arsenal have let in, 9 have been from outside the area. Ade is by far the top Arsenal scorer this season with 16 league goals, followed by Cesc at 7. In terms of assists, Cesc is still the go-to man with 11 assists, followed by Hleb’s 5 and Eduardo

Man City’s top scorer (and most impressive player) this season is Elano with 5 goals. Petrov leads with the most assists at 6. Out of the 31 league goals that City have scored, 18 have been from outside the area (58%). But out of the 25 goals that City have let in, 16 were also from outside the area (64%). So Adebayor and other Arsenal players should not be shy to have a go from long distance.
Phew. Enough stats.
…and now LDE’s:
I’m traveling tomorrow and wouldn’t have had time to put up a preview or catch the game so thought I’ll take some time off to put this up. I like Man City ..always had a soft spot for them from the time they got promoted along with Birmingham City(I think). They always always play good football and while they invariably have a leaky defense that seems to have been sorted out a bit with Richards and Dunne forming a decent partnership at the back. The heart of the team undoubtedly though are Elano and Petrov with Johnson, Mpenza, Ireland all playing around them and trying to set them up all the time. Fortunately for us though they seem to have gone off the boil a little bit. Elano specially lost his cool completely and only a smart sub from Sven during the FA Cup prevented him from getting sent off. Its sad though — him getting kicked. Why does it always happen? Hopefully though he will start against us and we’ll have a feast of good football to watch.
As for us, we’re getting back to some good form ourselves - close to what we had at the start of the season. Cesc has got progressively better and Hleb has put in decent shifts as well. RVP will probably be back in time for the end of the season - and considering people thought we were screwed without him (myself included to an extent) we’ve been fairly good in front of goal without him. I like Eduardo more and more every time I see him and with Ade on this hot streak of form and being everywhere all the time I do think we have enough in the tank to take out a dogged Man City side which will play on the counter and on the ground most of the time. Gallas has made mistakes - more than Sendy in the last few games but between them they have looked very very solid most of the time. Sagna has to be the player of the season for me — What a signing — what a coup!! and who is Cole?? Almunia has been reasonably good between the sticks as well and I doubt whether Arsene’ll go for a new goalie in the summer with Jens gone.
The early lunchtime kickoff is good and hopefully it won’t be too windy and there’ll be a bit of sun there. Overall we’ll nick it with this team:
Almunia
Sagna Gallas Senderos Clichy
Hleb Cesc Flamini Diaby
Ade Dudu
Subs: Lehmann, Gilberto, Bendtner, Theo, Hoyte
Man City 0 - Arsenal 2

Preview from premierleague.com
Manchester City (6th) v Arsenal (2nd)
Last Season: 26/08/06,
Manchester City 1 - 0 Arsenal
D D W L D D Form D W W D W W
Arsenal will again be without winger Tomas Rosicky because of a hamstring injury for the trip to Manchester City on Saturday.
Holland striker Robin van Persie (thigh) is back in training, but is not yet match fit.
Johan Djourou (groin) and Denilson (hamstring) are also still not fit, while Emmanuel Eboue, Kolo Toure and Alex Song are at the African Nations Cup.
Niggling knee:
England defender Micah Richards could return to Manchester City’s side for the match.
Richards, 19, has missed two matches over the past week due to a niggling knee problem but was named in coach Fabio Capello’s first England squad yesterday.
City missed out on Portsmouth’s Benjani Mwaruwari in the last minutes of the transfer window while new signing Ecuador international Felipe Caicedo is not expected to arrive until next week, so Darius Vassell and Daniel Sturridge should continue up front.
Squads:
Man City: Hart, Jihai, Onuoha, Dunne, Richards, Corluka, Ball, Hamann, Fernandes, Petrov, Vassell, Elano, Mpenza, Ireland, Sturridge, Geovanni, Schmeichel, Garrido, Etuhu.
Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Senderos, Clichy, Diaby, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb, Adebayor, Eduardo, Lehmann, J Hoyte, Gilberto, Bendtner, Walcott, Traore, Lansbury.
I don’t think it would be that easy, like LDE said. I mean 0:2 at City is a great result, and my guess is that even if we manage to win it would be with 1 goal difference. But then again, all I want to see is three points, be it with 1, 2, 3, 5 or 25 goals difference
UP THE ARSE!!!
February 1st, 2008 at 12:13 pm
I think it will be a tight game. Man City will defend in numbers and Arsenal have been slow starters in recent games. My prediction would be 1-0.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
The team and bench selects itself due to the injuries and the ACN.
However, there are some unconfirmed reports that Alumina has injured himself. I am glad that Lehmann has stayed. If the news is true, he is an able backup.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Nipuna, 1:0 or 0:1?

February 1st, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I’m hoping that Man City’s recent run of form dips even more to include a loss at home and that loss will be to the Arsenal.
My boss, I mean my pimp is a MANC and as one supports ManUre but he has a soft spot for Man City being a Manc and all. It’s getting bad with him giving me gifts of George Best DVDS at work, now he’ll be cheering Man City to elevate ManUre solely into first place. Now don’t get me wrong my pimp is a nice guy but him gloating over a negative Arsenal outcome will be just a little too much for me to take.
So if I ever meant it then I’ve never meant it more…
GO YOU RED AND WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 1st, 2008 at 12:40 pm
I don’t think Man City will sit back and defend at home. This is not the same Man City side of old. Under Sven, this is a different City.
It’s gonna be a tricky match. Only plus side of us is their recent dip in form.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:48 pm
But if City takes an early lead, then they would probably sit back and defend. Only for us to equalize in the final minute of the match. Just like watching England!

http://the-cannon.com/2008/02/01/man-city-preview-almunias-injured/
Rumor is saying that Almunia is injured. Not sure if it is true.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Arsenal have confirmed that both Almunia and Gilberto are injured and will miss the match. Arsenal have 14 fit outfield players for the match.
February 1st, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Well, time for Lehman to step up then…
Don’t see the squad missing Gilberto too much, but it is looking pretty thin with 14 healthy bodies available.
The ACN is defo mucking things up a bit. Hopefully our luck holds out a bit longer until Toure and Eboue return.
February 1st, 2008 at 3:03 pm
Hey I know he flubbed up the start of the year but we’re talking Jens Lehman here and he’s still a great keeper and the #1 for Germany, one of the worlds top teams.
He’ll definitely get the job done because he’s got a lot to prove and he is capable. Last year he kept the Arsenal in the top 4 with many clean sheets while things were silent on the other half of the pitch (the attacking end).
I for one have confidence in him.
February 1st, 2008 at 3:18 pm
I fancy us for this one. After a great start to the season, Man City are starting to slip up - 2 wins in 11. Their home form is excellent though, and that means they will be confident, but defensively they were shabby against Sheff Utd last week and hopefully we can take advantage of that.
February 1st, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Thanks to Newcastle’s brittle confidence - cue chant of “Can we play you twice a week?” - Arsenal have their tails up again.
Yes, Cesc and Hleb still to pull more strings in midfield. But Sendy has almost eliminated the jitters, while Adebayor is rampant and Eduardo is due another goal soon.
Lehman definitely has a lot to prove, so his concentration will be 100%; hopefully his mad granny temperament too.
I see us kicking on with a 2-0 win. Their front line isn’t exactly lightning quick.
February 1st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
hahaha, i can assure u lehmann will play 150% from now on.
its kind of eerie that he decided NOT to leave even though he had just 6 more months and his place in the NT was in great jeopardy. and immediately after the window shuts he has 2 league matches plus the Man U fa cup match to reclaim top spot.
good luck to him!
he needs to give a lecture to diarra on patience.
February 1st, 2008 at 5:22 pm
Would it be wrong to say I’m not sad that Gilberto is not available tomorrow?
February 1st, 2008 at 7:58 pm
villagegunner - it would not be wrong to say that. In fact, I would question your sanity a bit if you DID want him to play.
February 1st, 2008 at 8:14 pm
lol @ 15. its a relief!
but the numbers are now really low. only gavin hoyte, landsbury, traore are left.
i think traore will take gilberto’s position on the bench.
February 1st, 2008 at 10:14 pm
We’re back to form (against some less than stellar opposition), but this will be a good test. We’re ready to take a win against the sky blues in their house (first home loss for the blue mooners), but it will be a very, very tense affair, as City will not give this one up without a helluva fight (clean, though). Should be exciting - I’m really looking forward to it.
1-0 Gunners on a late one.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:58 am
A funny weekend’s fixture - while United probably hoping their deadly neighbour to do them a favour, we are hoping the same, for Spurs to beat United at home.
The way things going, this season is not about Arsenal Vs Man Utd in the title race, more of Arsenal Vs Ronaldo. AW said it well, one of the biggest assets of Ronaldo is - he rarely missed games. 27 goals in 28 matches. Ronaldo to United is probably even more crucial than Cesc to Arsenal.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:05 am
“I don’t think Man City will sit back and defend at home. This is not the same Man City side of old. Under Sven, this is a different City.”
Andez, watch Man City’s home game vs Liverpool.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:38 am
Funny, that 5-1 demolishing of Man City was on Arsenal TV last night. We were so deadly then, up 4-0 in the first 19 minutes. If not for some wasteful play in front of goal from Henry it could have been much worse. It’s plain to see why he never won POTY. But he was still a badass, skinning Richard Dunne for fun.
Since the start of the season, I’ve been a big fan of Corluka (did I spell that right?), more than Elano. Corluka’s just a solid footballer. He’s actually a proper CM who’s playing out of position for City at RB. I’ve also liked Vassell and Ireland in seasons past and thought they could play for Arsenal even before this season. It’s good to see Ireland become a regular as he was always good off the bench.
Corluka/Diaby is the match-up I’m looking forward to. Unfortunately, I’ve got a seminar this weekend and won’t catch the game until later (thank God for DVR). Arsenal should win. I’ll hope to see Arsenal make a statement scoring atleast three goals today. We’ll see.
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:46 am
“Andez, watch Man City’s home game vs Liverpool.”
When? Who won? I didn’t watch it. Now Liverpool is very much out of title race, not too keen on watching their fixtures.
February 2nd, 2008 at 3:08 am
The game was on 30 Dec. Man City had won all but one of their home games. Still they literally parked the bus ahead of their goal and Liverpool attacked for 90 min but couldn’t find a way through. The game ended 0-0. Expect the same today.
February 2nd, 2008 at 3:15 am
We will see.
February 2nd, 2008 at 7:46 am
Yeah, City have parked the bus every time they’ve come up against a decent side. They even did against United at home in their golden patch at the start of the season. I expect there to be Dunne/Richards last ditch clearances and hopeful counters from Petrov.
February 2nd, 2008 at 9:36 am
Arsenal were cruising until Clichy decided to make things interesting. City have gained a lot of confidence from the goal and Arsenal have gone a bit flat. Need another goal for insurance and to improve the goal difference.
February 2nd, 2008 at 9:37 am
it is a bit difficult when we give goals like that away, hope we dont concede early in the 2nd half
February 2nd, 2008 at 9:40 am
Clichy got complacent. Can you blame him ? City were hardly giving us a worthy challenge. Hopefully the lads will get straightened out at the break
February 2nd, 2008 at 9:41 am
We are due for a kind of silly mistake like that aren’t we? i much perfer defenders to just keep it simple, and just kick the ball towards roll Z if needed. better conceded a corner than goal.
a silly way to let City off the hook. i agree we need one more goal. City players can play make no mistake. if we don’t score one more goal, we might end up parking the bus ourselves towards the later stage of game.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:39 am
good result.we didnt play to well but secured 3 points, dont say this often but come on you yids
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:39 am
3 precious points. Really good decision by the ref to let play continue for Arsenal’s 3rd goal. Two more for Ade. Eduardo scored a beauty as well. And as for the stats, Arsenal now have added two more goals from inside the 6 yard box. Not bad.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:40 am
It suddenly strikes me that Adebayor now actually stands a realistic chance winning the Golden Boot this season. If he does, I bet there must be absoutely NO ONE would have predicted that.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:41 am
the third goal summed up nicely what Adebayor is all about - got kicked in the half way line, got up, kept running, ran into the box, and scored.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:44 am
Adebayor is kind of carrying this team at the present. It got a lot tighter in the second half than I would have wanted. If Ade was a little quicker than Richards, he could have had at least two more goals today.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:44 am
Absolutely superb performance.
Lehmann (6) Did what little he had to do well
Sagna (8) Set up the first goal with great run into box, what a purchase he’s been
Gallas (8) Always in command
Senderos (7) Played well, no slip-ups, going through a good spell
Clichy (7) Made a silly mistake, but I’m sure he’ll learn from it
Hleb (6) Poor in an attacking sense, but at least he didn’t give the ball away
Flamini (8) Was everywhere was usual, another very good showing
Fabregas (7) Put a lot of tackles in, passing was pretty smooth
Diaby (7) Played his part, but again, in an attacking capacity could have done better
Eduardo (8) Awesome predatory finish, even though offside, good all round performance
Adebayor (10) Faultless. Work like a dog, did everything you want from a striker - you just couldn’t ask for more
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:47 am
Clichy’s mistake is easily pardonable. How many times has Clichy made goal line clearances? As recently as the Newcastle game. I am sure he will learn from it. Great to see Senderos doing so well. Just one more game before Toure is back?
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:48 am
Happy with the play, happy with the result, lucky to be able to root for a team like this. DannyT, must note that 7 for Fabregas is high given his performance today.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:50 am
I gave him 7 because he put a lot of tackles in and broke up play, this starved the Man City forwards because Hleb and Diaby don’t do much tackling.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:54 am
Fair enough. Diaby gave the ball away cheaply a fair amount I thought so I might have rated his performance equivalent to Hleb’s. Also I need to note that Flamini is beginning to convince me he may be the real deal which one year ago I would have sworn was never going to happen.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:54 am
he is not kind of carrying the team he IS carrying the team. i knew he would start a lot of matches this season so i thought at least 12 goals given his previous wasteful tendencies. but at this rate he will reach 25 at the very least. that is henry/drogba zone! thats the thing about young players - exponential growth.
i can imagine bendtner and RvP are not very content at this moment LOL.
we have quite a lot of resting time till the blackburn game. rosicky should be back. hopefully RvP is back as well, maybe djorou as well. even our africans will be back by then.
looking good.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:56 am
Great game…Eduardo’s finish was awesome..and Adebayor is red hot at the moment..I knew he was going to get better this season…but never imagined he’d be this good..going to be an interesting race for the Golden Boot.
I can pardon Clichy for this one mistake….you could see the frustration on his face when Man City scored …hopefully he’s learned something from this.
The title race is getting really close…after that bad patch Arsenal are slowly starting to find their form again…and it’s come at just the right time..Man UTd on the other hand have been red hot ..the pressure will be on them to continue that…let’s see how they do against Spurs….it’s going to be a test of nerves.
Hoping for the best
Cheers
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:58 am
I thought Hleb and Diaby were poor. When Fabregas is out of form, he is still full of running, tacking and shotting at goal (even though not on target). When Hleb is out of form, he is giving away the ball and running into blind alleys. On the third goal, I was quite sure Hleb was not going to score. Thank goodness, Ade was around. He ran half length of the pitch even after being fouled. What a player he has become.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:01 am
The only place Clichy’s mistake hurts is the goal difference. Still early but it would be nice to claw back the GD wrt to ManU. Every conceded goal and every extra goal scored will count.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:05 am
My MOM is Flamini. His positioning was excellent, always at the right place at the right time (defensively), broke up lot of plays.
Now, come on you Spurs!
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:08 am
why on earth is king?? injured again?? just great!
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:18 am
never mind, they still got Grassgate.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:18 am
Glassgate that is.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:23 am
Tottenham have taken the lead over ManU, just like they did at OT. Let’s see if they fare better at home.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:23 am
never been so happy to see Spurs score
…hopefully they close out the game this time
Cheers
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:23 am
spurs score!! hope they can hang on!
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:27 am
Nice efficient result. Gallas complained in mid-week that others need to step up their scoring to take the load off Adebayor (now with 18/21 overall). Eduardo answered the bell with a ‘clinical’ bicycle kick to give us the 2-0 lead. Who else in the world today can make a spectacular bicycle kick goal seem ho hum.
I do not want to hear from Lehmann that he thinks today’s performance warrants the no. 1. It doesn’t.
Diaby remains the “weakest link” in the squad with poor pass selection, ‘blind’ alley runs, loss of possession because he holds onto the ball too long and poor passes. I’m watching Diarra having a brilliant box to box performance in the first 20 min against Chelsea. Diaby looks like he needs another year to learn the Arsenal game while Diarra is running the Portsmouth MF like he’s Fabregas.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:28 am
Adebayor was Awesomebayor.
The guy did everything. He won almost every ball in the air. He controlled almost every tight pass into his feet with 2 defenders crowding him. He held the ball up and brought everyone into play. He stretched the defense left and right and pulled Dunn and Richards left and right. This was a MOTM performance even without his 2 goals. He’s giving us all kinds of options we never had before… even with Henry. I just hope we dont get too overreliant on lumping balls up to the big man. Hail Emmanuel!
After sticking up for Diaby for a few weeks now, today he was back to his old self, holding onto the ball too long and giving the ball away too often. But Hleb was almost equally anonymous. Good thing we had Sagna and Clichy to provide some width in attack today.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:45 am
It’s a frightening how well Ramos has Sp**s playing now. They’re closing down all over the field like Sevilla when they were good. Lennon is his Navas, Berbatov is his Kanoute, Jenas is his Maresca and Woodgate is his Javi Navarro.,. You have to be impressed with how Ramos has salvaged the Jol train wreck that was Sp**s.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:55 am
I don’t quite dare to watch the Spurs Vs Man U match, got a feeling it’s a matter of time they would bottle it again and let Man U equalize or beat them in the end.
February 2nd, 2008 at 11:57 am
The perfect trifecta would be wins for Portsmouth and Sp**s.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:17 pm
How great to have attacking fullbacks to supply our strikers, when our midfield goes AWOL.
I’ve forgotten Clichy’s mistake already. Very out of character. He did a Lehman!
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I am watching the game and Keane just missed a glorious chance to score.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Keane just ‘bottled’ it after being clean through. The moment of the game.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Chelsea have scored. Yet another 1-0 win for them?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:21 pm
“How great to have attacking fullbacks to supply our strikers, when our midfield goes AWOL.”
Nicely put.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Well I had a feeling Spuds were going to do it today… I was more worried about our game. Man U will get a draw at most today. Spuds is going to be a different proposition next season. At he moment it’s 1-0 to Spuds.
Diaby gave the ball away a few times today but made amends on a couple of occasions. Also made some masterful plays one of them Adebayor should have finished off. Cesc did not set his usually high standards today with some quite woeful passes, but still quite a good game for a regular player, but we expect more because he’s a genius. Hleb not back to his usual influential self but not poor.
Flamster was as effective as usual, not as outstanding as the two Newcastle games, but way too good to criticise. Clichy was OK apart from a fatal error. Sagna and Gallas good. Lehman nothing to do really how came of his line when needed, glad he is still hear as the jury is still out on Fabianski.
Eduardo’s finish was out of this world, held on to the ball too long on occasions! Need I say anything about Ade, 2 goals and an assist what more can you ask. But Senderos impressed me the most, commanding performance from someone that I would regularly slate if I could be bothered. Come people let’s give him the credit he deserves.
Ooooh Robbie Keane just missed a glorious opportunity to put the Spuds two up, worse than the penalty miss at Emirates I kid you not. Man Ure slowly getting back into the game, Carrick, Anderson and Nani now on. Could spell trouble for the HotSpuds…
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Defoe equalises for Portsmouth.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
That’s an ex-Spurs player helping us out.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Thank God for HotSpuds and ex HotSpuds…. Jermaine Defoe 1-1. “Great save Cherny!”
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Andez I hope you are watching… TVU Player, ooh how I love it.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Rooney’s gets the yellow card for diving that we’ve been waiting for for years.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
ManU are throwing the kitchen sink at Spurs.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:49 pm

But Pompey hold on for a draw.

Best we could hope realistically. Chelsea and ManU drop points.

Almost a perfect day, but Dawson (Tottenham)bottles it yet again for Tottenham. Being 2 points up on ManUtd is better than being drawn with them. Almost a perfect trifecta but at end of the day we can’t always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.

Well we don’t call them FlopSpuds for nothing! A little disappointed but dropped points is good enough they may well have problems with Man City next week too.

awesome day. finally chelsea drop some. thats good.
our 0-0 draw at pompey doesnt look that bad anymore LOL.
Man U hosts City next. And Chelsea hosts Lilypool. GREAT!!!
Blackburn have nothing on the current team. We’ll break them. Especially at home.
Looking at the fixtures, if we beat Blackburn we will have so much momentum, I will seriously fancy our chances against Man U. Especially as Toure, Song, Eboue, Rosicky and hopefully Van Persie will be back!
Almunia and especially Gilberto should take their time with their injuries. Infact they should take one for the team by taking over Van Persie’s and Rosicky’s injuries!
If we can get the result against Man U away I am very sure we will dispatch Milan. And if we dispatch Milan we will destroy all in sight till we travel to Stanford Bridge on week 31.
So that Man U trip in a forthnight is very, very crucial. I hope Wenger doesnt do the cowardly thing by playing a weakened side or playing 4-5-1.
