…And so it comes to this, an eight game season starting Easter Sunday. As Ol’ Rosy Nose says, “squeaky bum time.”
I haven’t been a fan of Arsenal half as long as most of you, and I’ve read this forum all year with great interest. All the triumphs and frustrations of the season played out in your points and counter points. However, having said all that, I think there are two things we should remember: one, this was suppose to be a year that we were rebuilding having lost one of the world’s best strikers and two, the reason that we love them so much this year is that they’re just kids.
Think back to August with all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over losing Henry. If someone had offered a chance to be in the hunt with just eight games left, I’ll wager that each and every one of us would have jumped at it. The one thing we need to remember is that, no matter how much we who sit in our pubs and armchairs want them to win, they want it more. They’re a team in the truest sense of the word and they’ve given us one hell of a ride.
So this year, between torturing my daughter with a sadistic Easter egg hunt and sitting down to a wonderful dinner with family, I’ll spend two hours cursing Ernst Stavro Abramovich and his dead man walking manager and at the same time enjoy the fact that our team is in the thick of the title hunt.
I’m a Yank by birth, but I’m a Gooner by choice.

Did someone say beer?
“God exists. And He loves us. And we know this because there is beer.” Paraphrased from Benjamin Franklin.
“enjoy the fact that our team is in the thick of the title hunt.” and that’s why I need beer to thin the thick of it just a bit.

Jamaican by birth, American Citizen by choice and an Arsenal fan because they just play great football. Watching Arsenal play with my son (of legal drinking age) and his girlfriend (Arsenal fans too I might add) has allowed us to bond in the real sense of men, booze (Rum, Guinness and Red Stripe beer), screams and some light swearing.
He had never heard me swear until we started watching Arsenal games three years ago at the ripe old age of 20. Oh well, he now knows his dad is not a Saint as he originally thought.
This year more than ever has been heart wrenching and if I die of heart failure during a game I’ll be returning in spirit to visit Arsene and the entire team.
Breaking News:

Arsenal bid for Loic Perrin - Official
Arsenal have put a proposal to 22 year old Loic Perrin who has been recommended to us by the Grimster, Peter Hill Wood said we are awaiting the outcome from his representatives. Hill-wood said,
“We have made him a proposal”
“We have heard from his representatives but they have not given us a response.
At 1.79 Metres (5′ 10″), French and young he is seen to be a Flamini clone minus the experience at the top level. He currently plays for AS Saint-Étienne and has represented France twice at U-19 and 4 times at U-21. This indicates that Flamini may not be with us next year.
If this is the case, it would have been a perfect time for Arsene to add some more height to our DM. However, this apparently will not be done and we probably will continue swearing and getting heart palpitations next year when we allow goals from set pieces and aerial incapacity in the goal mouth.
LETS GET SOME FEEDBACK (Before and after the Beers)

I’ll drink to that.
Yank by birth, Gooner within five minutes of the first match I ever saw. Not even sure it was a choice so much as a calling.

Beer good, when team winning.
Beer good, when team not winning.
Hence, beer good!

When you are up 5 points with 1/3 of the season left… the “rebuilding year” theory goes right out the window.
Obviously, we were good enough to get into that position… and we didn’t lose first place by dropping points against ManU, Chelsea and Liverpool… we choked the top spot away against SHITE teams.
So, I feel very frustrated at blowing the league… unless we make a miraculous comeback in the last 8 matches.
Yes, we are great to watch… but … its not a rebuilding year. It might have been at the beginning… but it certainly isn’t now.
CL and EPL to play for… what are we made of?

My pint is in the air to that.
Texan/Yank (ha) by birth, minister by calling, Gooner by faith, guts, and glory.
I’ve enjoyed this season. And we still have a shot at the title!
