Like everyone else – I guess I was frustrated at watching everything slip away from Arsene and his lads last season and I had the thought more than once that something is missing. Could it be that we need to jump in and get wet with the other top teams and chase down a couple of ‘star players’? If Man City can bid for Ronaldinho, we can…..but Arsene has always been the one to ‘grow’ star players and I really respect that.

Buying big name players doesn’t always work and history shows us that very clearly especially at Chelsea but then they have such strength in depth and perhaps that is what we really lack? We get a couple of injuries and everyone is saying – it’ll be fine when we get Van Persie back etc etc……..I think we will be stronger this year after last year’s experiences  but will we still be lacking strength in depth?

I don’t want to use the word “easy” but I’d say their schedule is pretty light for August so they should get off to a fast start for the season.
