I received the following notice from Slainte pub regarding this weekend’s opening matches:
This weekend begins a new season for our beloved sport. Please join
Dave and I for a complimentary Breakfast Buffet on Saturday morning.
We will begin serving at 8:30am until 11am. On the menu will be Smoked
Salmon, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Bangers, Brian’s Breakfast Potatoes,
Pancakes, Fresh Assorted Fruit and Bagels. Coffee and Juice will also
be served. We will be offering $3 Pints of Amstel Light Drafts all

providing the buffet as a token of gratitude of all of your support.
Also, this season, I will showing the matches on HD satellite. The new
system will be in place by the end of August for a perfect picture for

Wish I lived in Baltimore, that breakfast sounds good to me. Looks like I need to talk to the owner of our favorite pub in Atlanta, The Moreland Brewhouse Cafe.
@ Wayne from the previous thread.
You wrote “@CK…..I respect your take on the situation..but I object to the fact that you classify anyone supporting Wenger’s policies..as supporting him blindly?……being critical and showing concern is one thing…but saying that the manager is totally wrong while you know better borders on arrogance.”
I never classified everyone as following Wenger Blindly. I said I do not follow anyone blindly. If it came across that way, I apologize for that.
Again, I never said Wenger was totally wrong, I merely pointed out 2 instances where he has erred in judgment. I said his Eboue experiment at RM was a failure and his choice not to replace Flamini earlier in the pre-season is a mistake. Two mistakes does not make someone “wrong”, it simply means he made an error like all humans do from time to time. Some, more often than others.
He admitted publicly that his choice not to strengthen the squad last year cost us the title. He admitted publicly that he makes mistakes. He has already admitted publicly our squad is thin in MF. He would never admit the Eboue failure publicly as that would destroy the player’s confidence.
That’s one of the reasons I love Arsene, as stubborn as he is, if he thinks he has erred he will publicly state so. Unlike the “Special One” and Sir Alec who blames the whole world before admitting their own errors, Arsene will shoulder full responsibility for his team.
To say my believing Arsene makes mistakes borders on arrogance is somewhat harsh. How many times do we question our Nations’ leader decisions and ultimately we are proved to be right. Would that be considered arrogant?
Consider the fact that our President is surrounded by an army of the most highly educated advisor’s in the world and they still manage to get it wrong whilst half of “Joe Public” would tell you it was always destined to be wrong. That’s not arrogance.
Arrogance is saying I would be able to run the club better than Arsene.
Arrogance is saying I know more about football than Arsene.
Arrogance is saying I have a better grasp of training methodologies than Arsene.
Arrogance is saying I am arrogant because I dare to question Arsene.
I painstakingly started my blog in total praise of Arsene and his accomplishments, and my respect for the man in order to avoid being labeled as a whiner.
Just my take.

@CK…you did not quote me in full ..here is the immediate next line..i said i was not referring to you
“You may not be doing that..but most of the other realists on the forum are guilty of doing that…which is why more ofthen than not you will see people like Andex, LDE, ryecatcher and me responding to posts rather than going all out in praise of Wenger.”
Your post stating that you have never been taught to follow anyone blindly prompted my response …my apologies if i got that wrong. And regarding your definitions of Arrogance….you just need to read some of the posts around here to see the people i am referring to
Cheers

If you’re in Chicago, head to:
The Globe Pub
1934 W. Irving Park Road
Judging by the Big Soccer board there should be a pretty good turnout.
August 14th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
If you are in Atlanta let’s all have a good turnout for the first game at The Moreland Brewhouse Cafe, 7:30 EST, Saturday.
