Arsenal U18 – The Dallas Cup

That’s right you heard it here first.  Our beloved Arsenal is coming to America next month!  No, not the senior team but the U-19’s who will be participating in the Dallas Cup.  Dr. Pepper/Dallas Cup is the world’s largest youth tournament held annually . . . Period!  AFC takes on FC Dallas on Saturday April 17, 2011 in the post opening ceremony game at Pizza Hut Park.  The remainder of the scheduled will not be annnounced until approximately April 1st.  So stay tuned for updates.  This is your opportunity to see the future stars of Arsenal, here, in the USA.  Many Arsenal legends have come through the youth ranks, Adams, Fabregas, and Wilshere to name a few.  The future of Arsenal will be here.  The question is, where will you be?

Furthermore, you might get a chance to see Arsenal take on Barcelona live and in person!

Participating in the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXXII Super Group along with Arsenal will be: FC Barcelona(Spain), SC Corinthians Paulista(Brazil), Coritiba FC (Brazil), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Tigres(Mexico), Club Bolívar(Bolivia), LD Alajuelense(Costa Rica), CS Cartagines (Costa Rica), Chorrillo FC (Panama), Japan National Team U-18, Vancouver Whitecaps(Canada), Dallas Texans(USA), FC Dallas(USA), Houston Dynamo(USA), and Real Salt Lake-AZ(USA).  Some of you have asked which players will be in attendance.  Squad members and their profiles will be posted when the traveling team is named.  Click here for a full breakdown of the Arsenal Youth Team.

SATURDAY, April 16th at 2:00PM CST - The Dallas Cup will kick off on Saturday, April 16th when the Arsenal youth squad take to the training field.  This event is open to ALL Arsenal supporters.  You will be allowed to be a part of an event that is typically closed doors, even to the media.  The team will be training at The Allen Complex. Click here for all of the details (Address, directions, etc.) for The Allen Complex.  The event begins promptly at 2:00PM.  All of the supporters will be gathered together at one part of the pitch, and will have the opportunity to mingle with the players at the end of the practice session.  Make sure to bring your camera and your autograph pen, as you will most likely be mingling with some of the future stars of Arsenal.

SUNDAY, April 17th at 9:00AM CST – Sunday ushers in the next day of Arsenal activities and events.  Arsenal America and the Dallas Gooners will be hosting a fantastic event on Sunday, April 17th at Trinity Hall.  The event will kick off with the viewing of Arsenal v. Liverpool.  With a title to play for, the atmosphere at Trinity Hall will be electric.  After the match, you will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Arsenal legends Steve MorrowSteve Bould, and Neil Banfield.  Are you excited yet?  Morrow, Bould, and Banfield will be doing a Q & A after the match with those in attendance.  This is sure to be a special event that you won’t want to miss.  Here is a complete schedule of events.  There will be great door prizes for those that attend (Kits, gear, and more).

Getting tickets to this event is pretty straight forward.  And, for those who are interested, you can get a Dallas Cup day pass in conjunction with an FC Dallas ticket to see either Colorado Rapids or the Los Angeles Galaxy.  The total cost is $25 for both events, so it’s essentially a $10 ticket to whichever FC Dallas match you choose, OR a free Dallas Cup day pass (the FC Dallas seats are normally $30). Anyone who is looking to come up to see Mr. Beckham and Mr. Donovan in addition to the Arsenal U-18s are getting a fantastic deal!
