As per Arsenal.com, Arsène Wenger may name the youngest first-team side in Arsenal’s history for the Carling Cup tie against Sheffield United on Tuesday..

For those watching the game, feel free to discuss the progress of the young ones in Tuesday’s game.

Toure comments on Davies’ challenge:
“It is wrong to allow those sorts of challenges in football. If we...

“The ball is round.  The game lasts 90 minutes.  Everything else is theory.”

When Big Sam took over at Bolton, he censored a few words from Sepp Herberger’s quote. The Bolton players were only allowed to learn this:
“The game lasts 90 minutes. Everything else is theory.”

Doing anything possible to last out the 90 minutes became Bolton’s motto. The fact that the ball was present on the pitch was just a technicality. If needed, the Bolton players could prefer to use the ball, but it was not necessary that their legs always had...

Arsenal’s Champs League quest starts today in Kiev. The good thing is that the Sept fixture date ensures that atleast the ground won’t be covered in snow and no orange ball would have to be deployed. As per the weather forecast, the temperature should be around 9 deg C near kick-off with chance of rain.

Some history
It has been almost 5 years since Arsenal’s last visit to Kiev. That fixture on Oct 21, 2003 ended in a 2-1 defeat and left Arsenal rooted to the bottom of their group with just 1 point (via a 0-0 tie with Lokomotiv Moscow) from their opening...

One thing for certain about Arsenal America is that there is no shortage of opinions. Whether these are presented with carefully calculated supporting data, pedagogic belligerence, vociferous aggressiveness, whimsical fancy or the “I know it all” syndrome, they are presented in abundance.

That’s the beauty of the Internet with anonymous writers couched behind their “anonymous” IP addresses and booze in hand.

Recently, the big debate has centered on the DM position.

Some say we don’t have a true DM and need one in order to win trophies.

Others...

During the transfer window, everyone wanted Wenger to buy someone. Agreed that the squad needed some strengthening, especially a defensive midfielder, even AW realized this & put in bids for Inler, Alonso & M`Bia, but somehow failed to get even one player (Strange, cause we always expect him to do something special). But don’t forget that, at the start of last year Flamini was only a squad player, maybe someone might step up this season as well; If not then AW will get someone in December or next year as per our needs. Remember Arsene Knows!

As of now, the transfer window...

Right then. The league games return after the two week gap that almost felt like eternity. Arsenal will be able to get in 7 games before the next international break a month away. The next seven games kick-off with a three game road trip starting on Saturday against Blackburn followed by trips to Kiev and Bolton before home fixtures against Sheff Utd (Carling Cup), Hull and Porto (Champs League) and an away game to Sunderland on Oct 4.

The good: Mark Hughes is no longer at Blackburn so there is some hope that Ewood Park might not be the kicking fields that it once was. Theo’s hat-trick...

So all the dust has settled and all the anger and frustration (from most of us anyway) has abated a bit, it’s time to have a good look at the team that will swim or sink us this season.

It is not a very dynamic team but if injuries are very minimal we might do something this season. We will need Rosicky to come back by October and stay fit all season (yeah I know), we will also need Van Persie to stay fit all season as well (yeah I know), we will need Eduardo to come back by December and be firing fully by April!

Plus, we will need Walcott to step up big, big, big time and...

The international break always seems to arrive at the wrong time. Just when Arsenal got some sort of momentum with 4-0 and 3-0 wins, the curtain comes down for an almost two week intermission. And when things will resume after the break, Arsenal face three tough road fixtures — friendly Blackburn (13th), Dynamo Kiev (17th, not quite brrrr yet, temp is currently in the 14-28 deg C range) and even more friendly Bolton (20th). Atleast Arsenal have gotten three league games in whereas, in Italy and Spain the break comes after just the opening rounds.

As per Arsenal.com,...

After last season I know all of us were anxious through the summer to see some players move on and to have some fresh faces fill the experience void.

It’s mid-week and reality for this fall’s lineup has sunk in for all of us. For team development, short term fixes rarely work out. AW obviously could not find the right midfielder, so none of us should be surprised by Monday night’s black out.

On the other channels, there was so much drama for MU, Man City, Chelsea, & Tottenham. Regardless of the big spending, success in the league is about consistency of...

After watching Nasri and Fabregas together, they seem to compliment each other brilliantly. Cesc is able to have the vision to get that long pass in to a small space and then with Nasri being an attack minded midfielder is brilliant in the box. Samir has a knack for being in the right place for either a one touch pass or a shot. I am excited to see what these two can do together this year. Also I am brand new to this site and I am glad that there are other gooners in the U.S. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of the group.
