Well…it’s here. The moment of truth. The time when the men are separated from the boys. A ground where AC Milan does not lose. The San Siro is a cauldron where bigger and better teams than the current Arsenal team have floundered. The crowd are Dementors who will administer “The Kiss” (Hope you’ve read Harry Potter). In short to stop the pointless flapping about..its going to be very tough and a big big thing if we go through without an Eboue dive.

I discussed the tactics last time round so I don’t think I’ll go into that much depth tonight. I’m...

A horrible week and a horrible injury to Dudu. Only now when I see that he’s mentally calm and has shown great strength and courage in his words that I am a bit calmer and am able to think clearer with regards to Arsenal’s season. Get well soon Dudu!! BTW if you haven’t noticed (impossible) you can Email Dudu from the Arsenal.com site.

The Birmingham game was ours for the taking but for a Clichy boob and a Mike Dean gaffe where he couldn’t wait to blow the whistle and help his good friends from ManU with yet another non-existent penalty. Is he friends with Mike...

Sachin’s a bit busy with the newest addition to his family, so LDE’s flying solo today:

The Milan game’s taken a lot out of me along with my beloved Gunners. So much so that I don’t quite feel up to writing a preview. But anyway here goes.

Its a trip to the Midlands and an early kickoff which I might miss. Having come through dirty December and an injury laden ANC without a problem and top of the table 5 points clear, the guys will kick themselves if they don’t build on this. Somehow we need to still be 5 points clear before we face Pool,...

Sachin and LDE have outdone themselves with these previews! First up, Sachin:

The wait is finally over. Champions League football finally returns this week as 16 teams can briefly put their league worries on hold and focus on the glittering European prize. The original European Cup always had a strong appeal right from its inception in 1956. But in recent years, the quest for this trophy has certainly reached obsessive heights. In fact, quite a few teams have made the Champions League the most important quest of their season while letting their league form dip since winning...

Saturday’s 5th round F.A Cup tie at Old Trafford brings together not only the current league’s #1 and #2 teams but also the two best teams in the history of the F.A Cup.

The two titans:
Man Utd have the most F.A Cup wins with 11, followed closely by Arsenal’s 10 victories. Both have also have finished runner’s up on 7 occasions each, with Man Utd finishing second best to Chelsea in last year’s final.

Ever since Arsene Wenger took over Arsenal, they have been THE dominant team in the F.A Cup. In the 11+ years under Wenger, Arsenal...

Here are this weeks previews brought to us by Sachin and LDE.  First up is Sachin’s…

This weekend’s English Premier League games are the return legs from the Round 3 fixtures.

Recap of Round 3:
None of the big four of Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea or Liverpool picked up a win in Round 3. But Arsenal, Liverpool and Blackburn had only played one game heading into the weekend of August 19 because of European ties.

Arsenal 1-1 Blackburn
No Arsenal fan needs reminding of this game. A mistake from Jens coupled with his opening...

Two previews today, first up is Sachin’s….

History:
Arsenal’s record against Man City has been very impressive ever since City got promoted back to the Premier League in the 2000/01 season. The Gunners have won 11 of 13 league games since then (outscoring City 29-6), drawn one and lost one (last year’s away fixture 1-0). The 1-1 tie on Jan 4, 2005 crushed Arsenal’s title hopes leaving them 7 points back of Chelsea. In this period, Arsenal had their best two games against City in that 2000/01 season when they thrashed City 5-0 at...

Wow, the match kicks off in just under two hours, and still no previews coming in. Perhaps everyone just figures it’s more of the same after Saturday’s Cup match. Well, in some respects, it is. The questions coming into tonight are:

1) What will the side look like?

2) Can the Gunners exploit Newcastle to lower that goal differential any?

It’s been a while since we’ve beaten Newcastle in the league, so as far as I’m concerned, tonight’s as good a time as any to get a nice big win.

Also, I’m working on a recap of the dinner...

Cup History:

Arsenal’s last two F.A Cup ties against Newcastle both came in league and F.A Cup winning double years. The first was the 1998 final when Overmars and Anelka scored the goals in a 2-0 win to lead Arsenal to their first F.A Cup win under Wenger. Arsenal’s line up for that day was Seaman, Dixon, Winterburn, Keown, Adams, Vieira, Petit, Anelka , Overmars ,Wreh (Platt sub on @ 62 min), Parlour.

The second was in 2002 when Arsenal needed two games to dispatch Newcastle. In the first game away to St. James’ Park, Edu scored a goal in the 14th...

A good win against Fulham who rarely threatened to be frank but 3 points none the same which is great. Back to the CC we’re ridiculously short at the back without 4 centre backs. I have mixed feelings about Gallas stepping in. It does solidify the back four but if he gets injured now; we’re in a big big soup. Unfortunately this happened to Sendy when he was really playing well. This is what happens all the time when he’s got a chance and then when he has an iffy game on coming back; people have a field day cursing him. Anyway Myles Palmer predicted a Spurs - Chelsea final;...
