Man it was cold. That biting English wet cold you read about that gets down under your skin. As I walked around the grounds, I saw the touts shivering, the trinket passing out babes in scantily clad clothes bouncing up and down, and a large crowd gathered around the meat patty truck willing to endure the smells for just a wee bit of warmth.

But that all changed as I entered the stadium….

This is your correspondent reporting live (well, almost) from the suburbs of North West London. I told the Rosenburg lad at the Tbird that we’d win 3-0. I had the right idea, but 5-1′ll do nicely. Not only the win, but as Rick said, top of the group. Not sure what that buys us though, since some pretty decent teams finished second in their groups. But at this stage of the competition there are no easy games.

A terrific display by the lads tonight and goals from Reyes (at last!), Henry, Fabregas, Pires and van Persie and solid performances from everyone. Van Persie caught...

2-1 to the Arsenal (thanks to a “not paying attention” goal in the 90th minute) after a bad back pass from Simek, Wright in Goal kicked it upfield only to see it bounce off some Sp*rs git and back into the net. 10 of us from AA standing on the opposite side from the Main Stand watching a match on a pitch that’s on a grade (probably 20 feet higher on one end than the other) fortunately we won the toss so got run downhill in the second half. Jill Smith was her usual magic lady and arranged to have us hang around long enough (and believe me they wanted to boot us out) to meet...

Greetings all. This is Dave Connick reporting from an unusually gray and slightly foggy London. We have a good representaion of arsenalamericans over here from the USA and Canada and we’ve even got one punter named Andrew coming in on Tuesday from Hong Kong!

Many of the road trippers, like myself, arrived on Friday and a number of the gang were treated to the tour of THOF on Friday afternoon followed by a trip round the corner to our adopted liquid refreshment purveyors at the T Bird pub on Blackstock Road. A great way to start the proceedings.

On Saturday morning Bob...

Greetings from Roadtrip command here in Hong Kong.

Just an update on the ArsenalAmerica Roadtrip to Highbury (v. 3.0). Once again, we have a case of “good news / bad news.” The good news is that the UEFA Champions League game we will see actually “matters” in that it is a must win for Arsenal (more or less). The bad news is that the UEFA Champions League game we will see actually “matters” in that it is a must win….

This is the second year in a row that we have picked what should have been a meaningless UEFA game only to find out that...

For those who have forgotten, we are now one month away from our Third Annual Roadtrip to Highbury. This year we will have nearly 30 seats somehwere in the North Bank (not sure where) for the Birmingham City and Rossenborg games. Thanks to the help of some Arsenal fans in London, we will likely have five people attending the Chelsea game that next Sunday.

We will be teaming up with Arsenal Malta on Friday before the game to take a tour of Highbury with Jill Smith of the Arsenal Supporter’s Club. We’ll also probably send a few over there on Wednesday as we’ll be...

Wow. The response has been amazing. In fact, probably too amazing (I’m trying to sort it with Arsenal but we are WAY over what we projected). Those London ArsenalAmerica supporters might be called on for some ticket help as we might need a few extras (keep us in mind).

In the next few minutes, I’ll be sending out an e-mail to those who have contacted me. If you don’t get it and are planning on attending, you need to get ahold of me IMMEDIATELY. If you’ve been on the fence, well now is the time to decide go / no-go.

Looks like it’s going to...

Hi Guys,

Just reporting in from the English Football mad land of — Hong Kong. I’m down, I got my net up, and I’m dealing with 100s of unanswered e-mails.

But that doesn’t change one fact–we’re going to Highbury in December. If you want in, write me NOW! I’m going to sort through all of this and see if we have any space left. Looks like a great trip.

Andrew@arsenalamerica.com for those don’t know. Drop me a line and I’ll dig out of all this stuff and see what I can do to get us all in to Highbury before Christmas!
